Etsy Finds Friday - Art Cloth Dolls

It's **Etsy Finds Friday**
Today I am featuring the
  Beautiful Art Dolls created by:
  Sherrie Meyer

In the Artist's own Words:
Hello to all. I live in Far North of Australia in a small town surrounded by rainforest and bordered by the Coral Sea. This is a beautiful setting that easily inspires magic and a need to create. I have loved playing with puppets and dolls since I was little. Having six children I could easily continue to `play' as time went by. I initially began making puppets for conflict resolution programs using puppetry to reach children in schools. It was not until a family trauma and loss that I began to make dolls as I went through my own therapeutic and transformative process. As things happen I left doll making aside and followed other paths. I have come full circle now working with children again as a counsellor using play and creative therapies. A dream job for a lover of puppets and dolls. And the best thing for me is I am inspired to begin creating dolls again!  I feel so honoured to be included on the Etsy site with other doll makers and I am having so much fun viewing all the wonderful creations. Thanks for sharing my story.

Pigs That Fly...

As promised in a previous post, I am sharing my Pigs That Fly Wedding Cake Topper.  A custom order for a wedding with a "Pigs Fly" theme, I created my little pigs with sparkly pearl white wings.  I used mica powder on pearl white clay with a gloss finish to make the wings sparkle and shine. These cute little pigs are happy in love! She's wearing a wreath of red roses and he's wearing a black bow tie. They are standing on a green base decorated with a little heart that has been stamped with a floral design. Mica powder was used to enhance the design and to highlight the edge of the base. They stand approximately 2 1/2" tall on a 2 1/2" diameter base.

It's **Etsy Finds Friday**
Today I am featuring the
  Beautiful Pottery created by:
 Tracie Manso

In the Artist's own Words:
I was born September 20, 1956 in Ann Arbor, MI. I moved to Brazil with my parents and siblings at age 2, where I lived for 22 years.  I returned to U.S. in 1980 where I completed a B.S. in Computer Science and Math in 1985 at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. I moved to San Diego, CA. and later Eugene, OR., where I worked in the computer field until 1997. I held a position with University of Oregon from 1990-1997.  I began doing pottery by learning hand-building and wheel-throwing skills at the University's Craft Center in 1990. I continue developing until today as a self-taught potter, and by taking numerous workshops and learning from other accomplished potters.  I am also a licensed massage therapist and work full-time in this field.  I guess I just like using my hands in everything I do!

A Bride and Groom Roasting Marshmallows!

I had such fun creating this sweet and fun wedding cake topper!

A happy Bride and Groom sitting on little logs, roasting marshmallows over a campfire.  This was such a fun custom order!  Entirely made of polymer clay, there is a lot of great detail in this topper!  The bride has her brown hair up in a bun. Her dress is in an ivory color with beaded flower embellishments and she is holding a bouquet of pink and white flowers in her lap. The groom has brown hair and he is wearing a black tux, white shirt, and a lime green vest and tie, with a white and lime green boutonniere.  They are holding little sticks with marshmallows at the ends, held out over the campfire. I created little rocks that outline the fire-pit, little logs and the fire all out of clay. They are on a base made to look like grass, which is approximately 4" in diameter and they approximately 4" high.  Newly listed in my Etsy Shop, click HERE to see the listing.

Turtle and Toad and Deer...

Oh my... Nature is all around...  So glad I haven't seen any snakes in our yard yet!  But they sure are out there... Izzy and Emmi have found many, very happy that they were outside with George when they did!  Here are some critters that I did see...

A Deer...

It's so cool when the deer come around so close!

A Turtle...

My daughter Melissa was visiting us when this turtle came to visit...
She held him so that I could get some shots to show how big he is.
Much bigger than the little turtle George saved a few weeks ago.

 And a Toad...

This little toad is Emmi's friend.  He lives in a certain area of our yard
and when Emmi goes outside she goes right over to that area,
sniffs the toad as if she's greeting him and then goes about her business...
Well, with a little prompting from us,
we don't want Emmi and the little toad to come to blows!

Cake Topper Appreciation Pictures

I always love it when my customers share pictures of the toppers that I created for them on their cakes.  It's great seeing my work 'in action'!   The two that I am sharing with you today are toppers that include my little horse, one with a baby for a baby shower, and the other with a little cowgirl for a little girl's first birthday.  I appreciate each and every one of my customers, I love creating toppers and figurines for them, and am so happy to have appreciation pictures!  Thank you to my AWESOME customers!!

Thank you to my Customer for this Awesome Feedback:
Trina is so creative in her work! She is wonderful to work with and exceeded my expectations on my custom order. For my custom order, she took my idea, gave me a sketch or comparative options, sent me what she had made before final product was complete. Trina was in contact all along and I received the piece very quickly. I would highly recommend her and her creativity to anyone!
Very pleased and will order again!

I love the way they placed the baby and the horse on a blanket, so cute!!
