A Polymer Clay Train and Conductor

I had such fun creating this darling little Conductor and Train Cake Topper! You can tell by his big eyes and big smile that he's having fun playing with his little toy train. He's all dressed up in his conductor's outfit; striped overalls, a hat and red bandana. Using primary colors, I created a train engine, two train cars and a little caboose. Because it's for a child's second birthday, I put the number two on his hat and I also wrote the birthday boy's name on one of the cars. It's approximately 3 1/4" high on a 3" round base. This sweet little topper will be listed in my Etsy Shop: Trina's Clay Creations ~ as an example of a birthday topper I can create for that special little birthday boy or girl!! :)

In the Artist's own Words:

My background is in Graphic Design and Illustration. In 2000, I took a stained glass course that completely changed the direction of my work. Since then I’ve replaced my paint brush with a glass cutter. I now work full time as a glass artist, focusing primarily on the endless possibilities of fused glass.

I design and handcraft each piece of my glass art. The individual pieces are cut, layered and kiln fused at approximately 1400 degrees F. The same amount of care goes into each design and every piece that leaves my studio is unique.

Guardian Angel Fused Glass Ornament

I'd like to introduce sweet little Faith. So delicate, so feminine. This adorable little angel is the perfect reminder that we are surrounded by angels. As you can see, Cherish has just had her hair done and is ready to sing in her heavenly choir. Notice the little star button adorning her hair - oh, so cute!! The pieces of glass that make up this little guardian angel ornament have been hand cut by me, layered and kiln fired - just long enough to fuse the glass together without losing the dimension of the layers. All of my designs are original - the only patterns I use are my own.

The perfect little keepsake to remind us that we are surrounded by angels. Makes a sweet gift for new baby, adoption or baptism. Also a gentle hug for moms facing a loss. A Wedding Cake Topper for a Very Special Couple!

A very dear friend of my daughter, and of our family, got married last weekend and I had the honor of creating their wedding cake topper. For their topper, the bride and groom wanted a likeness of themselves; her in her bridal gown and him in his tux. They also thought it would be cute to have their dog and cat featured in the topper as well. So, with pictures of them, her dress and their kitty and puppy in hand, I sat down in my studio and I loved every minute of creating this topper for them! It was extra special because I have known the bride and her family since she and my daughter met each other in the fifth grade. Sadly, I wasn't able to attend the wedding, it was in Texas, but my daughter was so happy that she was able to be there. She wouldn't have wanted to miss seeing her friends get married for the world. While at the wedding, my daughter sent me a couple of pictures (via a text) of the cake with the topper on it, so I thought I would share them here, as well as some pictures that I took of the topper itself.

A Pinterest Lesson Learned...

I have learned a lesson and would like to share it with you. I am a huge fan of a broad range of art. I am inspired by artwork of many forms and the artists who create this amazing artwork. I have featured many artisans and their work on my blog, always very careful to create the links that will take my blog readers to the artist’s website, to view more of their work and read more about them. As an artist myself, copyrights are very important to me.

When I joined Pinterest and read about how it works, one of the things I really liked about the site was that no matter how many times an item is re-pinned, it always keeps the original site link. You can click on that link to go to the site, or you can double click the picture from a Pinterest board, and it will take you to the site that it was first pinned from… Or so I thought. I do not check each picture that I re-pin, but I will be from now on.

I re-pinned an amazing photograph and I didn’t realize that there was NOT an original source attached to the picture. I’m not sure how this particular picture was first pinned to a Pinterest board, nor do I know how other pictures are pinned without an original source attached. When I find something on the web that I would like to pin to one of my boards, I use my “Pin It” button, and the source has always automatically followed the pin. (In the 'Description' I also type in the artist’s name and/or the name of their store.) These pins show as “Pinned via Pinmarklet from…” and then it names the website. I thought that using your "Pin It" button, or a "Pin It" Button provided in a blog post or on a website, was the only way something could be pinned to a Pinterest Board... But I guess pictures can somehow be uploaded without using the "Pin It" Button... ?

As an example of what a pinned picture looks like when it's embedded into a blog post, below is my Teddy Bear Wedding Cake Topper, which I pinned from my Etsy Shop to my Polymer Clay Artwork Pinterest Board using my "Pin It" Button. Below the picture, it shows that the source is Etsy, via myself on Pinterest.

**When you click on the Source, which is etsy.com (directly above to the left in grey print), it will take you to the original site the Teddy Bear Topper was pinned from ~ which, in this case, is my Etsy Shop and the listing for these Bears. When you click on Trina (above) it will take you to my Pinterest Boards and when you click on Pinterest (above), it will take you to the Pinterest website. (The grey print and the links come with the pictures when you embed them from Pinterest into a blog post, etc...)

Unfortunately, on Pinterest, when browsing the pins (and re-pins) of the pinners you follow from the main "Pinners You Follow" board, you CAN’T see the sources or sites that the pictures originally came from unless you click on a picture and look at it individually. So, unless you click on every picture before re-pinning it, you won’t know what website (or lack thereof) it was first pinned from. If it says “Uploaded to Pinterest" or "Uploaded Pins” there may NOT be a website or original source attached, and once re-pinned, it will show on your board as “Uploaded by User” ~ (If you are re-pinning from inside one of a fellow pinner's boards rather than from the main "Pinners You Follow" board, you can see the websites on the pictures without having to click on each one individually.)

I did not realize that the photographer's photograph that I re-pinned said “Uploaded by User” and that when double clicked from Pinterest it did NOT go to a website. Being new to Pinterest, and excited to share some of the awesome art I was seeing when I first joined, I blogged about it… I shared some pictures directly from my boards on Pinterest using the “Embed” key next to the pinned pictures. I thought the information that came with the pictures that I posted to my blog article would take my readers to the original sources, but in this case, for this particular picture it did not, because there was NO source.

I am writing this post to make my fellow pinners aware of this. None of us want to pin something to our boards without properly recognizing and giving credit to the artists whose creations we are pinning. Since I was not aware of this, I am thinking there may be other pinners who are also not aware of this. Sincere apologies go to the photographer whose awesome photograph was somehow uploaded to Pinterest without proper credit being given. In addition, and on a personal note, I am very sorry that I did not notice that the artist’s website was not attached to the photograph when I re-pinnned it.

To all my fellow pinners, please make sure proper credit is given to the artists of the work that we are all pinning and re-pinning and that sources are attached to pins and re-pins. In Pinterest's Pin Etiquette it says: "If you notice that a pin is not sourced correctly, leave a comment so the original pinner can update the source." I will definitely be doing that, as well as browsing through my own boards to make sure my pins have original sources on them. (Which, if any of you know my boards... That will take me a very long time! LOL!!)

I enjoy Pinterest. I have learned new things there, made new friends there, I've been moved by photographs and/or things I've read there, I find inspiration there, as well as things that make me smile. Pinterest should be a place where we can all continue to find those things that inspire us, teach us, move us and make us smile. Thank you for reading my post today. ~Trina

I have lived on the west coast of BC all my life, and am inspired by the nature here. I am a true animal lover, and have always had pets of all kinds. Little Skunk

This little skunk has been wandering around in the forest and is just pooped. He found a nice mossy tree root to rest his tiny head for just a few minutes. This print is 5 x 7 inches (about 18 x 12.5 cm) It is printed on Epson Velvet Fine Art Paper with archival inks. This print is from my pastel painting.

Penguin Wedding Cake Toppers

A pair of loving penguins.
They are wooden kokeshi dolls (a Japanese style), they are about 2 3/4 inches (7.5 cm) high. They have been hand painted by me, acrylics, with careful attention to detail to give them their own personalities and then coated with varnish.
They would be great on top of a wedding cake, or as an engagement gift, or just a cute couple to have for yourself or a friend that loves penguins.
The heads on this couple are on dowels and can turn either direction and can be removed and changed to the other body if you wish.

Mardi Gras Mask Bottle

I belong to the PCETeam on Etsy (Polymer Clay Enthusiasts Team) and each month we do a 'Stretch Yourself' Challenge. This month the theme is Mardi Gras, St. Patrick's Day or Irish Themes. I chose to do something in a Mardi Gras theme and wanted to share it with you today.

I covered a glass bottle (can also be a vase) with polymer clay, stamped a leaf design on it and then used mica powders to highlight the design. I used greens, purples and golds, it added so much dimension to the piece. I added a rope around the top of the vase, I then created a Mardi Gras Mask in pearl yellow, using those same Mardi Gras colors to decorate the mask. I also made clay feathers to adorn the mask. The bottle has a cork lid and can also be used as a vase without the lid. It stands 4 1/2" tall, 3 1/2" wide at it's widest part, and the opening is approximately 3/4" ~ It was so much fun to create this one, and different from what I usually make. The Littlest Angel

"Paciorky" means "necklace" or "beads" in my native Ukrainian language. Here you can find my handmade jewelry and accessories, which are made of different materials, but now mostly of polymer clay.

My name is Christine Bondar (dzjunka in the Internet) and I'm from Ukraine (Lviv). I'm an artist, a very creative person, philosopher and aesthete. Since I remember myself, I has been creating something. Maybe sometimes my creativity was too various, like literature and arts, but nevertheless in such way I always trying to express myself.

I spend much time, carefully making each bead with all my love and efforts, till that moment I finally like it and gratified at the outcome. But I enjoy the process very much! Every day I try to progress, go on and learn something new.

Mountain Lake Blue and Brown Polymer Clay Necklace

This is a beautiful handmade necklace in ethnic style. The square blue beads and the dark brown ones between them are made of polymer clay in ceramic imitation technique. They are composed with wooden beads, river pearls, mother-of-pearl, brass findings, leather and waxed cords. This bright accessory will make a wonderful accent to your clothes!

Black Flower Brooch

Lovely handmade brooch with a little chrysolite in the middle. It is made of polymer clay. The texture pattern on the petals gleams a little in silver. It can not only decorate your bright appearance, but will certainly raise your mood! ;)

Aromatic Cinnamon

Elegant handmade set (necklace and earrings) with abstractions in autumn colors. Inspired by november. It reminds the spirit of late autumn, burned leaves, coffee and cinnamon. The necklace is composed of 9 tube beads, which I've made of polymer clay, painted and covered with gloss glaze, in combination with dark amber color glass beads and bronze findings.

Amazon River Necklace

It's a really luxurious, spectacular necklace! Because of its cool colors, in an exquisite combination of indigo, aquamarine, sepia, beige and white, it reminds of the mighty Amazon River. The central elements are my own handmade polymer clay beads, wich change their size to smaller to the ends. The necklace is also composed of glass beads, small ceramic ones and copper beads, copper and brass findings, chamois cords. Each bead is carefully hand-carved and individual in its color, but all together they are united in a wonderful ensemble!

Snowfest 2012

It's George's family tradition to go to Zehnder's Snowfest every year. This is the third year that I have gone. The winter of 2009/2010 was my first winter living here... My first time to go to the Snowfest and it was absolutely FREEZING! Being new to Michigan winters, I didn't quite know how to dress for these kinds of things, however I have definitely learned since then! So, when we went last year I had LOTS of layers on! It was an even colder and snowier winter, but I stayed warmer because I was better prepared. It was cold yesterday also, there were flurries in the air, but the sun did come out for a little while, which was very welcome and warmed us up a bit. We made sure to have some nice hot chocolate as we walked down the main street of Frankenmuth. I love walking down the main street there, it's such a quaint and pretty street with many shops to visit. Like every year, there were a lot of great snow and ice sculptures to see. It hadn't snowed very much this winter leading up to the opening of the Snowfest, luckily the temperatures were low and the sculptures stayed nice throughout the weekend. Before heading back, we warmed up... (And thawed out)... in a warming tent while eating lunch, it was a fun afternoon. Two Poodles and the Eiffel Tower!

I created this cake topper for a customers who will be spending their first Anniversary in Paris. These two adorable poodles are sitting in front of the Eiffel Tower, she's all dressed up with sparkles in her curls, wearing a pink bow in her hair, and he looks very proud to be by her side. On the ground in front of them is a bone shaped pillow with a silver pair of wedding rings tied to it. The Eiffel Tower stands approximately 3 1/2" tall on a 3" base. This topper will be listed in my Etsy shop (Trina's Clay Creations) as an example of a figurine and/or cake topper that I can customize.

Two Little Mice and a Pumpkin Carriage!

This little cake topper was such fun to create! I made a pumpkin carriage in orange and silver, adding vines, leaves and a darling oval door with a round window. The two mice are sitting in the grass in front of the carriage, each holding a glass of wine and toasting each other. She's dressed in red, he's in blue and both have great big eyes, making their faces so darling. The topper is approximately 2" tall and sits on a 2 1/2" base. Made as a custom order for an awesome customer of mine, I will be listing it in my Etsy shop (Trina's Clay Creations) as an example of a topper I can customize as a special gift and/or cake topper.

Gaea is the greek goddess of "mother earth", so it is appropriate that I love to play with it (how did mom know?!) I've had a major love of ceramics and jewelry for much of my life.

I find inspiration in everyday things. The shell pendants were inspired by our first trip to the beach with our son. As a child I imagined fairies living among the plants and flowers thus the queens, flowers and leaves. I have designed and made each piece and have loved every minute of it!

This individually picked bundle contains 9 spring and love tone ceramic beads! These beads are hand formed and hand glazed and are an original design.

One Little Leaf One Little Bird

Open Heart Ceramic Dish

A little place to hold little things... An original design, this earthy open heart dish is stamped with one of my handmade leaf/acorn stamps and measures about 3 1/4" tall by 3 1/2" wide. The red clay dish has been glazed in a cream color inside only.

This handmade ceramic Lotus pendant was carefully set in a handmade copper bezel. Copper links and ceramic beads were all handmade with love. All copper pieces have taken a tumble to strengthen them. You may be wondering why this is called a Jellyfish Pendant. Well, it is made from a photo of beautiful jellyfish that I took at the Vancouver Aquarium. I then used a computer program that makes kaleidoscope images from your photos and this is the finished product! This pendant is made from white polymer clay and the image was applied using a photo transfer technique. It was then baked, sanded and coated with a layer of resin for protection and a glass like shine. It measures 1.5" and has a silver plated bail. It comes hanging on an 18" pale blue cord and organza ribbon necklace.

When I was a small girl I made most of my toys from old T-shirts, tights or socks, giving dolls buttons for eyes and yarn hair :) I kept only one toy from that long forgotten period - an old worn down black horsie I made when I was about 9 years old.

Years later, in a creative unrest I began making toys: little bears and bunnies, moose or mice. They are all made to appear sweet, friendly and heartwarming. I love creating them and take pleasure in making them for others :) Forestblue animals stand for love and care, natural material and uniqueness.

Boniface

Boniface is a heartwarming lovely bear, a very special little friend or an elegant gift for someone you love. Boniface is made of two colours merino wool – light beige and a beautiful warm melange brown. The red ribbon gives Boniface festive look and adds to his charm.

Bubbles

BUBBLES makes a perfect child or baby gift toy, but knitted bunnies have this special power to also melt some very grown-up hearts! This handmade bunny is stuffed with natural anti-allergic filling material. His body is very soft and flexible, you can squeeze him and pull ears and arms without worry. He's extremally hugable and likes to say "If I was a sweater, I sure would be very warm" :)

Willy

Meet Willy, a little forest friend. This baby deer enjoys playing hide and seek - you may want to watch out for him, Willy tends to wander off, especially when stumbles upon magical creatures like butterflies.... Willy is made of pure organic merino wool in light wheat beige color. Willy's body is soft and delicate, he stands on long and thin but sturdy legs, as their position is adjustable, you can make your fawn jump and run and take funny poses.

A Soccer Player and a Birthday Boy!

He's sitting in front of a great big cupcake with colorful sprinkles on top, along with a shiny blue candle, all lit up and ready to be blown out. He has a happy smile, and just look at those cute little toes! He's holding a big pearly blue balloon with a red number one on it. Ladybug Black and White Girls Headband

I always loved Ladybugs ~ so cute with their polka dot wings. This Ladybug found the perfect home nestled into a black and white Gingham bow. The headband is very soft and stretchy and will not leave marks on your little one's head. Great for everyday wear or for special occasions.

My Puppy Headband

There a little puppy peeking out of the silk flower on this bright red headband. The puppy was created out of polymer clay and has glass beads for his bright little eyes. A chiffon bow with a crystal decorates this already darling headband, a delight for any little girl.

Dora the Explorer and Boots Headband

Is there a Dora the Explorer fan at your house? She would be delighted with this big 5" brightly colored bow featuring Dora the Explorer and her monkey Boots. Take notice of the glittered blue heart which compliments this beautifully blue colored headband.

Wood n Leather Penguins

Wood n Leather Penguins is the 4th of my Animal Pendants series. They are made from Premo polymer clay using faux wood and faux leather techniques. As with all my animal pendants, this could also be used to hang decoratively in a shadow box or on a small wall. It is 54 mm (2 1/8") tall.

Sterling Silver Flower Bracelet

Handmade Sterling Silver and Polymer Clay Bracelet. I made the beads of this bracelet using many layers of polymer clay, then sanded and buffed the beads. Absolutely no paints were used. I then handmade each silver bezel to fit each individual bead. The bracelet measures approximately 7.75"(19.4cm)in length. Each bead is approximately 1.1 x 0.75"(2.75 x 1.8cm) All the metal is sterling silver.

Shabby Chic Earrings

These earrings are in blue and brown shades, "shabby chic" ambiance, with "millefiori" flowers, surrounded by an intricated pattern. These focal beads are handcrafted by me in polymerclay, sanded and buffed for a natural polish aspect. + smaller complimenting accents : white cat eye beads, silver-tone metal beads and caps. They are very light weight. The drop is about 1"1/4 (3,5 cm) from the silver-tone earring wires, for a total length of about 2" (4,5 cm).

Decorative Wall hanging Key Holder

This holder has a underwater sea design. It was created with polymer clay and triple glazed for a brilliant shine and protection. The wood base was painted a Mediterranean blue and the pegs Rosewood stained color. It has two hangers on the back for hanging. The decorative plague measures 6 1/2" W x 9 1/2" H. From top to pegs holders measures 10 1/2".

Working in My Studio...

I hope you enjoyed a beautiful Christmas! We enjoyed our day and a beautiful meal with our family. Not wanting to spoil any Christmas surprises I have not posted any of the pieces that I have recently created. Now that it is after Christmas, I thought that I would share a few of them with you today.

.¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨)

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥ For this first one, my customer asked me to create a whimsical likeness of a favorite photograph of her Mom's, which she sent to me. The photograph is of her mom reading a book with their dog, Sadie, laying beside her. There is a glass of wine on the arm of the couch, which my customer wanted included. Last year I had created a figurine of Sadie laying in her bed with her favorite toy. Sadie had passed away, so it meant so much to my customer to give the figurine to her Mom last year. This year she wanted something special like that for her Mom's Christmas gift. I really enjoyed creating this one!! She sent great feedback when she received the figurine in the mail, and also wrote to me after her Mom opened her gift on Christmas Eve, to let me know how much it meant to her Mom. That was very sweet of her, and I appreciate it so much! It does my heart good to know that something I created means so much to my very awesome customer and to her Mom!! Here are a couple more pictures from different angles:

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥ This next one was ordered by a customer who has also purchased something else from me before. She wanted a park scene of her son, daughter-in-law and their dog. She asked that her son be sitting under a tree with their dog, and his wife across from them taking a picture. This one was different for me, a bigger figurine with the tree. I put a blue bird in a nest sitting in a tree branch, added flowers and even a little spider climbing up the side of the tree. I was pleased to know that she is very happy with the figurine and I thank her for the honor of creating it!!

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥ I have a 'Wooden' Rocking Horse listed in my Etsy Shop (You can see it by clicking HERE) ~ My customer asked if I could make it into an ornament for a child's first Christmas. She wanted a white horse with black spots instead of the brown one she saw listed, so this is what I created for her:

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥ One last thing to share today... A customer wrote to me and told me that her husband is in the Army and in Iraq now. She said that there is a grandmother who has befriended her husband, and that her grandchildren have sent him letters and gifts for his last three deployments. She wanted to give each of them something really special for Christmas. She sent me a photograph of her husband in uniform and I created these darling Keepsake Ornaments for her, personalizing each one by the child's favorite sport, or hobby and their favorite colors. She wanted thirteen all together. I sent the first three to her separately, for her own grandchildren. These are the ten she gave as gifts to the grandmother and her grandchildren. All of them were a lot of fun to create, I had a real little assembly line going in my studio!

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥ We went to the same Christmas Tree farm as last year, to pick out and cut down a tree. Although this time it was certainly a lot different. We picked a very blustery day last year! There was a lot more snow at the same time last year, than there was this year! (¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥ Most of our decorations are handmade. As I was growing up we made dough art ornaments and we continued that tradition with our children as they were growing up. Every year our kids would also make special gifts for us, with the help of their grandma (my mom) and they are such fun to unwrap and display every year. Each year all of our ornaments bring back so many special memories as we prepare for Christmas.

Water Pitcher Upcycled

One of a kind upcycled water pitcher or even a utensil holder. This would also make a unique gift. More than 10 hours of work went into making this piece, starting with a blocks of clay to a finished product. I use slices of my custom made polymer clay canes to cover objects. The color and design is built into the clay. I cut slices off of the cane and apply thousands of these tiny slices in different colors to the found object to create a design. This procedure creates an amazingly beautiful piece of useable handmade art with texture. This piece can be hand washed.

This large round stone has earthy pastel shades of blue, pink and gold with brown and gold striations. This jasper displays crackle vintage-like markings giving it a rustic country charm. The Snow Has Arrived!

Well, last week was a snowy week... We had our first snowfall. Our dog, Izzie, LOVED that the snow was back, she looked at us with BIG happy eyes and ran and pounced and even rolled in the snow. However, our daughter's dog, Emmi, didn't like it at all! She's so funny, because you have to shovel a path and drag her outside, but as soon as she sees a squirrel she runs through the snow like it's summertime grass!! LOL! It rained over the weekend and the snow is mostly gone now, but I thought I'd share a few pictures of our first snowfall of this season.

Snow Birds

A Flock of Three

This listing is for 3 unique snow birds that has been sculpted, carved, painted, and antiqued by me. They are mounted on a white antiqued block that is 2x2" and 3x3". Also I have updated their legs, they are now mounted on dark colored kiln dried wood. The birds themselves vary from 6" and 8" tall.

Blue Hat Snowman on Antique Toy Block

These snowmen have an incredible vintage feel, yet they are like nothing you have ever seen before.

Santa Vintage Inspired Folk Art

This piece is quietly reminiscent of Christmases of yesterday, but it also has a totally unique, colorful, creative look. I sculpted this piece, carved it, painted it, antiqued it, and finished it with a fine layer of snow (glitter). St. Nick is mounted on an antique toy block (2x2") and his arms are attached with antique piece of wire. Each St. Nick is about 12 inches tall.

Christmas Elf Ornament

Clumsy Elf Tangled in Christmas Lights Holiday Ornament. This elf is the first in my elf ornament collection. A clumsy little guy, he tripped while hanging the Christmas decorations. This poor little guy is hanging from his ankle all tangled up in Christmas lights. He has not lost his holiday spirit however and will smile from season to season. This little elf is about 4 inches tall. He is wearing green pants, a white shirt, red jacket, green belt, and red/green Christmas hat. He hangs from his leg with a strong wire which you can use to wrap around your tree for secure hanging.

The Tulip Beads were hand sculpted by me using Polymer Clay. I used Premo Polymer Clay. Every Bead had been sanded and buffed by hand for smooth and shiny looking.

These are one of a kind beads (12 total) made from wood and accented with polymer clay flowers and leaves. Each bead is approximately the size of a penny. They are light, but not flimsy. Very durable and strong, and unlike any other beads you might have seen! Warm colors and unusual design will complement any casual or semi-formal outfit! Lydia the Apple Snail

Lydia's a health fanatic. She's particularly fond of long distance running and holds the record for the Mollusc Marathon of 5 years 33 days, taking a whopping 2 weeks off the previous record holder. Lydia is made entirely from polymer clay, apart from her black onyx eyes and red feelers. Her stalk has been strengthened with a wire armature, and her leaf has been made using a millefiori technique. She is 6.5cm long and 3.5cm tall, and her shell has been finished with two coats of hard wearing gloss varnish.

An Appreciation Picture

Last week I received a wonderful note, with pictures attached, from one of my customers. It was such a nice surprise. I created a Groom's Cake topper for them. They had written to me when they received it and said that they loved it, I was very glad to know that. I appreciate, so much, that they also sent me pictures after the wedding, and that they let me know how they felt about the topper on the cake! They said that the topper was a 'Big Hit'. It's fun to see my topper 'In Action' ~ When my customers send notes and pictures, such as these, it makes my work even that much more worthwhile! I thought I would share the pictures with you.

A Peek at What I've Been Up To...

I have been having fun in my studio, working on some custom orders! A BIG Thank You to my customers, I had fun creating each and every one! Here's a little peek of a few...

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥ This darling Wedding cake topper features a Doctor, Nurse and two sweet little girls. Dressed in pink and purple, the little girls are holding bouquets of roses. The bride 'nurse' is dressed in pink scrubs, wearing a nurse's hat and holding a slightly larger bouquet of pink and white roses. The groom 'doctor' is wearing navy blue scrubs with a white doctor's coat and a stethoscope around his neck. A little plaque, outlined with vines and leaves, displays the wedding date.

My customer has already received the above topper and this is the feedback I received from her ~ It makes my work so much more worthwhile to receive such wonderful feedback:

"Oh my goodness did my topper turn out amazing!!! I do not, do NOT like ppl on my cake but when looking for a unique topper...I stumbled upon Trina's creations and just fell in love with her items and my topper is better than I ever thought it could be!! I'm so excited to see it on my cake! Thanks for your amazing work!"

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥ This Squirrel is very happy because she has a huge yummy lolly pop to enjoy! Sitting a a base of vines and leaves, she's so cute with her buck teeth and bow in her hair. She stands approximately 4" tall, on a 2 1/4" base. The vines and leaves around the base are highlighted with gold mica powder to bring out the design.

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥ A fun black and white cow who loves bubble gum!! She's approximately 4" tall on a 2" base. Wearing a purple flower in her hair, she's happy as can be sitting on a base of leaves and vines. The leaves and vines were highlighted with mica powder to bring out the design.

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥ This little Cowboy is based on the "TV loving" boy on 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' ~ Holding his game controller in his hands, he also has TV remotes in his holster! Wearing his cowboy boots and cowboy hat, he looks so happy... As if he's winning the video game!! He stands approximately 4" tall, on a 2 1/2" base. An orange rope design decorates the base he's standing on, as well as his cowboy hat. In the picture below you can see the little TV remotes, and aren't those the cutest little pants... pockets and all?!

My greatest joy comes when I have brought a smile to another person in life. I worked in the medical field. After a critical car accident and a few times in surgery, the doctors now call me their miracle patient. I now have begun "Life - Part 2" creating words to encourage others in this world... and if I can, bring a smile to a face and a warmth to their heart. We all have times in life, that we need to be encouraged. I hope in reading my cards, you will find encouragement and encourage others.

Kokeshi Doll Charms

Kokeshi Doll pendants and matching earrings. Each one of these is HAND PAINTED. I did not use colored clay to make these. Each one was made with a base of scrap clay and beige clay, baked then hand painted over several days. All of the detail of the flowers and kimono are also hand painted and drawn on. Each color has a different hair style (colors and hair styles can be mixed and matched at request). The blue has pig tails, pink has a low bun, yellow has a pony tail brown has a high bun and purple has pig tail buns with cute pained hair ties. Kokeshi dolls are often given as gifts as tokens of a great friendship or good luck - so this set would also make a great gift.

Jewelry By Jennifer Casady, an intimate boutique of elegant and timeless handmade jewelry incorporating a wide variety of gemstone briolettes and rondelles, solid 14 karat gold, sterling silver, fine silver (PMC) 14k gold fill and unique artisan crafted lampwork. I design one-of-a-kind and limited edition pieces using various techniques including metalsmithing, wire-wrapping, hand stamping, PMC (precious metal clay), and the ancient and beautiful art of chainmail. My handcrafted jewelry has a classic and understated elegance which enhances a woman's individual beauty. The vast majority of my pieces are deliberately designed to be dainty and petite.

I am the wife of an amazing husband, a stay-at-home Mom to three precious little girls, and jewelry designer. I am a third generation jewelry designer and have been crafty my entire life, thanks to the awesome crafty genes in our family. *grin* From going to gem shows with my parents and grandparents when I was little, to sitting and playing with my Mom's vast collection of jewelry as I was growing up, jewelry has always been a part of my life. I started designing jewelry in December of 2005 and have fallen in love all over again as I learn various methods of creating beautiful jewelry and constantly strive to perfect my art.

Sterling Silver Heart Charm Necklace

A gorgeous duo of handmade charms consisting of an 8.5mm x 14mm deep blood red Garnet faceted pear briolette, lovingly wire wrapped with Sterling Silver wire and suspended gently from a dainty Sterling Silver 1.5mm flat cable chain. Next to the gemstone is an elegant handmade Fine Silver PMC heart pendant (approximately 1 inch in length) hand textured with my Plume pattern.

Citrine and Sterling Silver Earrings

Dainty, individual high quality wire wrapped briolette earrings are the perfect companion to my highly popular Petite Drops and Minimalist Necklace Collections. These earrings are all tiny, petite drops perfect for those understated days.

Antique Button Necklace

A gorgeous trio of briolettes consisting of an 8.5mm vivid orange Carnelian faceted heart, a 7mm x 12mm deep, pink Rhodochrosite faceted pear, and an 8.5mm sunshine yellow Citrine faceted heart briolette, are wire wrapped with Sterling Silver wire and connected into one of my handmade Fine Silver Antique Button pendants. The pendant is textured with an art deco daisy pattern and is 3/4 inch in diameter. The pendant is suspended gently from a dainty 18 inch Sterling Silver 1.5mm flat cable chain and is just under 1.75 inches in total length from the chain to the bottom of the gemstones. The entire handmade piece has been oxidized, buffed and tumble polished to bring out the texture and the contrast between deep, dark silver and shiny silver.

Dogs Are So Cute!

It's Monday morning and I'm getting ready for another work week. Our temperatures have been colder and there's frost outside most mornings. Our daughter's dog, Emmi, is staying with us right now and she's not too happy walking outside in the grass on the frosty mornings! Oh dear, just wait until there's snow... We will have to shovel a path for her for sure! She is half Yorkie and half Maltese and so sweet, but also very stubborn and feisty! She loves to hunt for critters and is a very picky eater. I say this because when we give her and our dog, Izzie, each a snack (a dog biscuit), Emmi eats hers very slowly... and would just walk around with it in her mouth if it weren't for Izzie! Izzie, on the other hand gobbles hers down in no time flat! Emmi is VERY motivated to eat when Izzie is around! And boy, does she protect her food dish and can definitely 'hold her own' if Izzie gets too close. For those of you that may not know, Izzie was our Christmas gift last year from our daughter. She's a rescue dog, a Red Heeler, and has added so much love and happiness to our lives. She's a little jealous of Emmi right now, and often looks at her as if she wonders when Emmi will go home! LOL! Anyway, I captured this picture of Emmi slowly eating her dog biscuit while Izzie is peeking around the corner of the couch... Izzie ate hers so fast that I'm certain she didn't even taste it!! Every time, she immediately goes over to Emmi wants to eat Emmi's treat too!

Here's a picture I took of a frosty leaf in our yard... We still have leaves left on the trees, and a lot of leaves on the ground! :)

My studio is located in the beautiful Niagara Wine Country, Southern Ontario, Canada. I have been creating stained glass pieces for many many years and just recently expanded into glass fusing which is fun but my real passion is still stained glass.

There's nothing like a beautiful stained glass entryway, splashy window in a bathroom, a window to block or enhance a view, cupboard or bookcase doors, a framed piece, tabletops. The possibilities are endless.

Butterfly Bevelled Stained Glass Suncatcher

Rainy day (photo) or sunny day - this oval panel sparkles all the time and looks fantastic in any window. Butterfly is clear bevelled glass surrounded by a bit of colour in the daisy and green English Muffle glass for leaves and the border is an irridized pink and clear combination. Measures 16 1/4" x 10 1/4" wide.

Bunny Likes Balloons

This cute little bunny would love to hang in your child or grandchild's window. He's very cheerful & colourful for any room. Measures 11 1/2" wide by 18 1/4" long with a sturdy zinc channel border. Includes jack chain to hang.
