Kim is a retired teacher who finally has the time to devote to melting glass, playing with metals, and creating one of a kind jewelry pieces. She has worked with glass for over twenty-five years, in one temperature or another. Kim was drawn into the world of borosilicate glass after working soley with soft glass for about four years.  With this glass, boro as it is called, opening the kiln in the morning is always a surprise!  All of Kim's glass has been annealed in a digitally controlled kiln, a very important thing to look for when buying glass jewelry.

Iza is a self taught jewelry artist, in love with wire in all its forms, shapes and finishes (sterling silver, silver, silver filled, gold filled, copper; tarnished, untarnished, or only slightly tarnished) since she started designing jewelry in 2009.  She works mostly in copper and silver, most of her designs include gemstones, crystals or pearls... My passion for art began as a six-year-old growing up in Chicago. My mother was an art student, and I was fascinated by her oil painting and jewelry projects. Trips to Chicago’s fabulous Art Institute came often, further instilling the love for art that would become a constant in an eclectic career path ranging from horsewoman to freight pilot to computer programmer. Our family’s organic garden and frequent camping trips nurtured a love for nature, especially flowers and rocks, which finds its way into much of my work today.

I started making jewelry when I was given a gift of handmade earrings from a friend. I was amazed that she had made them herself. I bought some beads that very week, and learned how to make earrings. Since then, making jewelry has been a passion and a joy that keeps the rest of my life in perspective. My style has evolved and grown over the years, and I am now a full time metal smith, mostly self-taught.

The artist says these rings are made in wrapping technique out of copper and sterling silver. They are hammered in different patterns and oxidized to highlight the silver design.

The artist says the pendulum hearts on these earrings swing freely and sometimes make a little sound as they tinker back and forth.  Lots of beautiful texture on the earrings, and the hearts add such a sweet touch.
