Last night, at about 10:00PM, George took Emmi and Izzie outside one last time for the night. I heard him yelling, I couldn't tell if he was yelling for Izzie to come back out of the farmer's field... Something that we ALWAYS have to do, or if he was yelling for me to come outside. When I went outside to check, he was holding Emmi and Izzie back from something, but it was so dark that I couldn't tell what, then he said, "There's a baby duck right by my feet!" I went over and picked up the sweet little baby duck to get him out of harms way... Emmi and Izzie were VERY curious! Once we got the dogs back in the house we sat with the duck for a bit. The little guy decided that we were his parents and followed us everywhere. It was chilly and rainy outside, and of course, we knew we couldn't just leave him in the yard, his mother was nowhere to be found. Somehow the little guy was abandoned. George made up a box for him, we put a towel and some grass in the box, and we fed him, he ate right out of my hand, so sweet. He slept very comfortably in the box... But now we have NO IDEA what to do with this sweet little baby duck. Once our veterinarian's office opens this morning, I am going to call to see if they know of a wildlife rescue near us.

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥ Now isn't that the cutest little duck?! I looked on the internet for what to feed him, and what to do to care for him, I've never been this close to a baby duck before... but it seems this kind of thing happens a lot, there were quite a few 'abandoned baby duck' stories.
