A little about the Artist and her work:

Elschen is an artist and mother of two boys living in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. She studied Fine Art at PE Technikon, now Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.  Elschen works in layers on a wooden surface, building up an image.  She enjoys the process of art making, whereby an image evolves over a period.

Awesome!

As I sit here this morning, enjoying a nice cup of hot coffee, I'm looking out our big picture window in the living room... I hear the birds chirping, and with my eyes closed, it kind of sounds like spring outside, but I open them and there it is, SNOW on the ground!!  Yes, that's right, a few inches of newly fallen snow this morning... Spring... I don't think it's going to be here any time soon.  

So, it's a good day to stay inside, and I am headed back into my studio to create a Bearded Dragon Wedding Cake Topper... But first, as I sit here enjoying the sound of the birds and the pretty look of the newly fallen snow, I am also browsing through Etsy on my computer.  I've been so busy in my studio lately, creating wonderful new orders, that I kind of lost track of time this past week... Plus, I'm getting used to a new schedule at work, and we've had some trips to the vet for our little Emmi...  

Friday came and went and I didn't have the chance to post my Etsy Finds Friday for the week!  I saw this AWESOME Sculpture by Dawn Schiller of Odd Fae and wow!  A very wonderful piece of artwork!!   Her work is fantastic, she's such an inspiration!!!  I thought I would post my 'Etsy Finds Friday' today... Enjoy!!!

I am always so thankful when one of my clay creations is included in a treasury!  I thank all of the curators who take the time to create such lovely collections.  This week my Mom featured my work in two great treasuries, and today I am featuring her beautiful work, along with the awesome treasuries she curated... About the Artist:

Will Wagenaar has been a professional artist since 1972. Starting in visual merchandizing management with a major Midwest retail chain, he learned at an early age to turn anything into something else. An interior design degree was next at Harrington Institute in Chicago.  1980 was the beginning of a successful mural painting business, creating wonderful walls for prestigious residences and major corporations in cities across the country.  In 1993 he opened a very experimental storefront on Miami Beach where he twisted all manner of found materials into new usable objects and fine art. A couple of years later the concept expanded to The Miami Design District. That larger workshop and gallery showcased over a dozen artist's work in reclamation art. Furnishings of all types, home accessories and fine art were displayed. Everything in the gallery was made of at least 80% recycled materials.  Those two stores are long gone but not the passion for reclamation art. Now living on the Gulf Coast of Florida, he feels like he might just be getting started. Etsy has opened a new world of possibilities for this well seasoned artist.
