My Mom, Sandy Prenzi, is such an inspiration to me, so talented and artistic!
She has several shops on Etsy, showcasing her artistic talents,
and I am proud to share them here with you today.

The first is Sandy's Bangles and Bows, where she offers her handmade and very sweet hair bows and clips, wedding accessories (including beautiful Ring Bearer's Pillows), beautiful mini hats and much more...  Here are a few, and you can click on the link above to visit her shop.

Ima Bookworm
 Ima Bookworm
Ima is a darling little book worm. She has on her very best hat and is ready to read her favorite book called "Down The Wormhole" by U. R. Wiggly. This little scene is made entirely out of polymer clay with the exception of Ima's wire rimmed glasses and her beaded eyes. The measurements are 3.5" wide by 3" tall.

Purple Fairy Door
 Purple fairy Door
Believe in Fairies and one may choose this pretty little purple fairy door to enter and call it her home. As you climb the steps you will see that the little doormat says BELIEVE. A birdbath summons the little birds and the doorway is surrounded with lavender roses, which is very appealing to the little fairies.  Created out of polymer clay and embellished with rubber stamps and Lumiere Pearl paint. This little fairy door stands approximately 2.5" high by 3" wide.

'New' are her darling handmade pincushions and trinket boxes.  'Old' are fun patterns to sew your own lovely clothes.  Below are a few of her pieces, and you can click on the link above to visit her shop to see more of her work.

Mason Jar Pincushion
Mason Jar Pincushion
Filled with thread and buttons, this cute little mason jar has a tiny orange rosebud for a pincushion. Three little pearl colored pins are poking into the bud. I love the fact that it opens for easy access to the things inside. It is wonderful to give to as a shower gift.  It stands 3.5" tall and is 2" wide and comes gift boxed.

Abrigail Mouse - Seamstress
 Abrigail Mouse Seamstress Trinket Box
Here is little Abrigail Mouse. She loves to sew and sits upon a box especially for your sewing notions. She's holding a little spool of thread and is looking very helpful.  I created her out of polymer clay and used glass beads for her eyes, Little Abrigail is attached to the box. The dimensions are 4.75" tall including Abby. The box itself measures 2" tall by 3.5" wide, plenty of room for thread, needles, etc.

Black textured back with my WO signature stamp. Lobster claw closure. This necklace is a medium 21'' length.

It's **Etsy Finds Friday**
Today I am featuring the
Handmade Creations by:
  Sydney Cooper

Sydney Cooper is a fifteen year old student in Peotone, IL.
She has enjoyed crafting ever since she can remember, she is quite an amazing artist.
I love her work and am happy to feature her today!

In Sydney's own Words:
Crafting has been a passion of mine as far as I can remember.  My shop contains handmade items using several different mediums- scrapbooking, knitting, dollmaking, clay work, etc. My shop is looked over by my mom, Donna Cooper, during the day while I am at school.  She also has an Etsy Shop and can be reached there if needed: http://www.etsy.com/shop/cooperdolls

Below are a few wonderful creations by Sydney.  Enjoy!

Antique Polymer Clay "Music to my Ears" Pendant
Antique Polymer Clay "Music to my Ears" Pendant
The star pendant is created by using sculpting tools and techniques. In the crevasses and textured points, acrylic paint is used to accent the texture and color. The black/brown paint makes the pendant look antique and primitive.  This pendant has a heart and music notes for design. Just about every color in the rainbow is used in this piece: red, orange, yellow, purple, blue, and golds. The softened hues will provide the amount of whimsy just right for your outfit.

Tropical Flower Pendant: Polymer Clay
 Tropical Flower Pendant
This pendant is made using skinner blends and a caning technique. Canes were used to finish off the back and a handmade bead is used as a closure.  This pendant is an 2 inches wide and is in the shape of a flower. The fiber necklace will match a variety of different colors. The bead in the back of the necklace adjusts so you can wear this pendant at a variety of different lengths. This pendant was made with a lot of love and would be a perfect gift for anyone on your shopping list! There was a lot of time put into it, but you have to remember to handle it with care. It would be shipped in a handmade box for easy gift giving!

Amber
 Amber
This doll is made using a wire armature and stands at about 14 inches. The wire armature allows you to position the doll in any way you wish. Her face has been painted with colored pencils and markers, It also has been rubbed with pearl powders. Amber's hair is genuine llama. She also has a floral beaded headband. It contains 14 beaded flowers and crystals and a day's worth of work.  Her legs, skirt, bodice, and shoes have been painted and dyed with the finest of supplies.  Her shoulders have been decorated with lace and her neck is beaded extensively. The bodice has been painted, rubbed with pearl powders, and then free motioned with bits and pieces of shiny fabric. Her chest has also been embellished with beaded flowers. The skirt is dyed silk. The overskirt is made using pieces of organza. The skirt has been further embellished with baubles with unique beading on each one. Around the wrists are peyote, hand beaded cuffs. The cuff around her left hand also has a beaded flower on it.  Her shoes have also been free motioned with tendrils running up her legs.  Finally, Amber is holding a silk cocoon that has been dyed and beaded. The wings are made using a single piece of organza that has once again been free motioned. The doll took 40+ hours of work! I hope you enjoy her!

Photo Editing...

As you may already know, photography is a favorite hobby of mine, and since moving to Michigan, I've been enjoying taking photographs of all the beautiful scenery here.  I've also been playing around with some of my photographs using the fun options in PicMonkey (a free photo editing site that my Mom told me about) and Picasa 3...

If you haven't tried either of these, you can click on PicMonkey and Picasa 3, above, to check out the sites... And have fun editing and organizing some of your photos.  It's very easy to navigate around within PicMonkey, I love user friendly sites! Once in PicMonkey, click on "Edit a Photo" and download the picture you would like to edit.  There are all kinds of things you can do... Crop it, re-size it, touch it up, and there are a lot of cool 'Effects' and 'Overlays' ~ There are fun fonts too, so you can add wording...  Once you have your picture the way you like it, just SAVE it and you're set to go.

To learn my way around in PicMonkey, I downloaded a picture and tried all of the options on the photograph, just to get familiar with the site.  Below I have shared some of the photographs that I have edited.  The first picture is of a log and flowers that I took in our yard and then edited in PicMonkey... I darkened the edges, saturated the colors a bit, and added a frame around it.  Next is a photograph that I took of a butterfly and below it are two copies using different effects.  The first effect is called "Daguerreotype" ~ I like the look of it.  For the next one I used "Holga" effect, then I added frost edges, darkened the edges and added a frame.  Scroll down, below the log and butterfly photographs and there is a picture of Emmi, along with the same picture after using "Pencil Sketch" in Picasa 3... I thought it turned out kind of cool.  :)   Which ones do you like?

My Original Log and Flower Photograph

After adding some effects... made for a more dramatic look.

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥ I have Picasa 3 downloaded and use it to organize my photographs.  There are some options for cropping and touching up photographs, and I used PicNic (within Picasa) when it was there as an option.  I searched for other photo editing sites when I learned that PicNic was closing down.  I found a couple that were okay, but I was so glad when my mom told me about PicMonkey.  Have fun!  ~Trina
