Today I am featuring the
Handmade Creations by:
Sydney Cooper
Sydney Cooper is a fifteen year old student in Peotone, IL.
She has enjoyed crafting ever since she can remember, she is quite an amazing artist.
I love her work and am happy to feature her today!
In Sydney's own Words:
Crafting has been a passion of mine as far as I can remember. My shop contains handmade items using several different mediums-
scrapbooking, knitting, dollmaking, clay work, etc. My shop is looked over by my mom, Donna Cooper, during the day while I
am at school. She also has an Etsy Shop and can be reached there if
needed:

Below are a few wonderful creations by Sydney. Enjoy!
The star pendant is created by using sculpting tools and techniques. In
the crevasses and textured points, acrylic paint is used to accent the
texture and color. The black/brown paint makes the pendant look antique
and primitive. This pendant has a heart and music notes for
design. Just about every color in the rainbow is used in this piece:
red, orange, yellow, purple, blue, and golds. The softened hues will
provide the amount of whimsy just right for your outfit.
This pendant is made using skinner blends and a caning technique. Canes
were used to finish off the back and a handmade bead is used as a
closure. This pendant is an 2 inches wide and is in the shape of a
flower. The fiber necklace will match a variety of different colors.
The bead in the back of the necklace adjusts so you can wear this
pendant at a variety of different lengths. This pendant was made
with a lot of love and would be a perfect gift for anyone on your
shopping list! There was a lot of time put into it, but you have to
remember to handle it with care. It would be shipped in a handmade box
for easy gift giving!
This doll is made using a wire armature and stands at about 14 inches.
The wire armature allows you to position the doll in any way you wish. Her
face has been painted with colored pencils and markers, It also has
been rubbed with pearl powders. Amber's hair is genuine llama. She also
has a floral beaded headband. It contains 14 beaded flowers and crystals
and a day's worth of work. Her legs, skirt, bodice, and shoes have been painted and dyed with the finest of supplies. Her
shoulders have been decorated with lace and her neck is beaded
extensively. The bodice has been painted, rubbed with pearl powders, and
then free motioned with bits and pieces of shiny fabric. Her chest has
also been embellished with beaded flowers. The skirt is dyed
silk. The overskirt is made using pieces of organza. The skirt has been
further embellished with baubles with unique beading on each one. Around the wrists are peyote, hand beaded cuffs. The cuff around her left hand also has a beaded flower on it. Her shoes have also been free motioned with tendrils running up her legs. Finally, Amber is holding a silk cocoon that has been dyed and beaded. The wings are made using a single piece of organza that has once again been free motioned. The doll took 40+ hours of work! I hope you enjoy her!

ReplyDeleteSydney is quite a talented artist. That music pin is beautiful. The soft colors give it an elegant look. I think I just found a new favorite shop!
