BBA February Team Challenge - Red Heart and Rose Trinket Box

This is my first challenge piece for the BBA Team on Etsy.  Because it's a month of love, hearts, and the color red, the challenge was to incorporate red into a new creation.  I'm facing some difficult decisions in my life right now, so I thought I could use the reminder to 'Believe' ~ I stamped the word into gold clay, then created an eyelet edging around it.  I textured the clay on the box and brought the red clay up on the corners of the word Believe, like it's unfolding a special message.  The bottom part of the box is gold, and I mixed red clay with gold clay to create the roses.  To finish it off, I brushed a gold mica powder on it, to make the the entire Trinket Box shimmer.

Red is my favorite color, and this was a fun Trinket Box to create!  I enjoyed the challenge... Every time I create something new I think of so many more things I want to make...  Always so inspired!  If only I had more time...

My Little Girl and Ladybug Cake Topper

It's 'Show and Tell' today!  Here's my newest custom order, created for a little girl's first birthday.  The theme for her party is ladybugs.  Created entirely from polymer clay, this darling little girl is sitting in the grass surrounded by leaves, vines, and pretty little yellow flowers.  There are three sweet little ladybugs visiting her... One in the flowers, another on top of the number one, and she's holding the biggest ladybug of all in her hands.  Wearing a pink dress, shoes and bow in her hair, she looks very happy to be turning one year old!  The sunny yellow number one beside her is stamped with a floral and vine design to match the flowers and vines on the ground around her.  The number one has also been lightly antiqued to bring out all the detail in the design.  The piece sits approximately 3 1/2" tall and is on a 3" diameter base.

My Polymer Clay Sailor and Lady Bug Picnic!

For the month of June, the Polymer Clay Enthusiasts Team on Etsy (PCETeam) presented two 'Stretch Yourself' Challenges.  The first is to create something Patriotic and the second is to create something to do with a Picnic, both in honor of the summer months and upcoming holidays.  The first of my little creations for the team challenge combined the two... It's A Lady Bug Picnic! :)   You can click on the images to see the listings in my Etsy Shop.

All dressed up in their 4th of July finest, these two little Lady Bugs are enjoying a picnic on their blanket in the grass.  With the tiny basket of fruit for them to munch on, and three yellow roses that he picked for her, they are having a happy day!

Next, here's my little Sailor!  My Grandfather served in the Navy during WWII. Through the years he shared many stories with us about his time in the Military. I was thinking of him while I created this little figurine.  Saluting proudly, this figurine/cake topper stands approximately 3 1/2" tall on a 2" base.

Reds and Blues!

Two fun treasuries... REDS and BLUES!

Red is one of my favorite colors, such a vibrant and powerful color!  These Etsians certainly got creative with the color red!  Beautiful items by all!!

Blue reminds my of my favorite place... The Ocean!  These pieces are all so lovely, I enjoyed putting together this next 'blue' treasury! :)
