Etsy Finds Friday - Griffinwyse

It's **Etsy Finds Friday**
Today I am featuring the
Awesome Elf Sculptures
Created by:
Kimberly Yavuz
of Griffinwyse

I love the awesome artwork by Kimberly Yavuz!
Each of her sculptures is incredible, unique and full of personality!

In the Artist's Own Words:
Like most artists, I have been making things as long as I can remember. Over the years I have been passionate about designing, drawing, painting and sculpting. I have done all of these in many forms; fashion and bridal design, fashion illustration, as a make-up artist, bronze sculptor, ceramist, wife and mother. I loved it all and it didn't matter if I was "sculpting" a bridal gown or "painting" a face, the thing I loved most about the work was how happy creating these things made others. For me nothing could be more rewarding than loving what you do, enjoying the process, and then getting to see people react and smile at your creation. My daughters are my primary inspiration for creating my elves. They have kept my imagination alive and keep new stories and adventures just around the corner every day. The elves have fused my love of books and stories, historical fashion, painting, make-up artistry and creating something from nothing. I love what I do and I hope they put a smile on your face, too!
My elves have been featured in Art Doll Quarterly and Doll Collector magazines and I consider it an honor to have my work displayed among so many talented artists.

Etsy Finds Friday - Felt Oohlala

 It's **Etsy Finds Friday**
Today I am featuring the
Needle Felted Dolls
Created by:
Felt Oohlala

I LOVE these beautiful Needle Felted Dolls by Felt Oohlala!  You can see how much the artist loves to create them, every detail is amazing!!

Here's a little of what the artist says about her work:
Although I am french, I am living in Hungary (middle Europe) for almost 20 years now, with my family. Here it is a very ancient tradition that wool, felted wool in particular, is used.  This comes from back times, when hungarians had a nomadic way of life and "jurták" were their homes. (Those are tents made from felt fixed on a light wood structure, and proved being perfect in terms of lightness and isolation, and some could even reach relatively great sizes!) So, I used to see felted objects(mostly wet felted) at market fairs or museum feasts.
Making dolls is a thing I do from my little age (with more or less skill to be honest). An attempt to express some extra creativity and probably a need to empower and direct a virtual world (up to a certain point).  Needle felting proved to be the right technique for me.

Each doll is like a present for me, that should bring warmth and wonder for those to whom it is destinated.  I put much care and love in my creations and always try my best to conduct the process with sincerity and honesty.  That is why my dolls are always my own design, and one of a kind.Their story come from the interaction of the long hours spending forming something which at the end is always unexpected, and feels right.
