Some of my favorite memories are the times we took our kids to the circus when they were little... Loved seeing their big eyes as they watched all the action under the Big Top! One time, while at a State Fair, we went to a show ~ It was an interactive circus, and both my daughter and son got to dress up and participate... My daughter (at about 7 years old) was a tightrope walker. She wore a pink Tutu and held a pretty pink lace parasol as she pretended to walk the tightrope, wobbling as if she was really on a rope. My son (at about 4 years old) was "The Strongest Man in the World" dressed in a muscle suit, he lifted great big weights, pretending they were very heavy... So cute!! The whole show was put on by kids chosen from the audience... There were kids dressed as circus animals and as clowns doing funny tricks and making balloon characters, it was a lot of fun. Those special times were my inspiration to create these clowns.

I think these are SPECTACULAR pieces!...... "Trina's work" at its very colorful best. Your circus story was fun to read and I can see by the pieces that you were inspired when you made them
ReplyDeleteI live the story behind your clowns - what a cool idea for an interactive circus!! I've never heard of this before - sounds like lots of fun!!!

Katie, I'm happy you enjoyed the story of the interactive circus! It sure was a fun day with my kids... And who would have known way back then, that the memory of the day would give me the inspiration to create these little clowns! :)
ReplyDeleteYour clowns are fantastic, how do you get them to be so shiny. Is it a special clay? Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful craft with us all. Xxx
ReplyDeleteTinypearl5758 ~ Thank you so much for your compliment on my work! I create my pieces with artist quality polymer clay, and use a gloss finish for some areas on them, to make those particular parts shine. (Like the shoes and noses of the clowns) :) Wishing you a great weekend!!
