It is my pleasure to feature the beautifully designed and incredibly detailed jewelry created by Anita Brandon of Melody O Designs. Anita recently opened a studio on ArtFire, but I have admired her work ever since I first saw it! Her love of creating her jewelry shows in each piece, you can see the special attention to the tiniest of details, each so beautifully handcrafted. As you enter her ArtFire Shop, Anita welcomes you to her studio, where "magical" butterflies and ladybugs abound and where each colorful handcrafted piece has been designed to bring you joy and good cheer.
Anita has been creating original design jewelry from artist-quality polymer clay for 14 years. She began by making pieces to compliment vintage clothing outfits when she was unable to find things for sale that she liked. She has been honored to have her work featured in the pages of "PolymerCAFE" magazine, and at "Polymer Clay Daily", "ClayPlayCafe" and "tonjastreasures". In her "other life" she is a professional musician (an oboist) and former university music professor. It is Anita's hope that her jewelry creates smiles........ both for the wearer and the viewer. To find out information on how some of her pieces were made, please visit her at her blog: http://www.melobeau.blogspot.com

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥ Here are a few of Anita's jewelry pieces and the descriptions she wrote about each one. Directly below each picture is the title of the piece, which you can click on to see its listing in Anita's ArtFire Studio. Enjoy! (It was very difficult for me to choose ONLY a few of her pieces to feature here today!)"Mr. Orange Kitty is handmade entirely from artist-quality polymer clay with the exception of the hairbrush bristles that are used for whiskers. Many of the details including the eyes are made from homemade canes. My cat collection was made to honor a most beloved fur person named Stormy who now resides in catnip heaven."
"I remember the joy and excitement of the fiestas that I experienced as a child and wanted to capture that feeling in a necklace to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Though it is often mistaken for fine Italian glass when I wear it, the beads and all the tiny, intricate designs were painstakingly crafted by hand from artist-quality polymer clay…...... and whenever I wear it, THIS necklace gets NOTICED!"
"These earrings were designed to look like they were crafted from the Sedona red rocks where my husband and I often hike, but are made entirely from PREMO polymer clay with the addition of a tiny bit of REAL "magical" Sedona RED ROCK DUST embedded in their matrix."

"I love Monarch butterflies, blue Morning Glory flowers and ladybugs. The necklace and caned Monarch is handmade from artist-quality polymer clay. Now that I live in Arizona I no longer have Morning Glories in my garden, but I certainly enjoy wearing them around my neck!"

ReplyDeleteYeah! Our Anita is a "special case" all the way, isn't she? I'm lucky to own one of her cat pin/pendants as well as a gorgeous bead, BUT - my best connection with Anita is as a friend. She's a wonderful person, that's for certain. I wish her the best, always and forever. (((Anita))). You're sweet to feature her today, Trina. Jackie
