 In the Artist's Own Words:

Mom of three boys who enjoys creating charming little pieces of art. Not even sure that I'm self-taught yet. I'd say I'm still self-teaching. Take a look around and judge for yourself.

Wow. So much has happened since I first opened my Etsy shop and wrote that little blurb above.
I am now a rubber stamp artist for Sugar Nellie, have various other online shops, and a line of figures, shadow boxes and wall art through Demdaco. I never could have imagined any of that in my wildest dreams!  Best of all I've met so many new people through this shop and I still enjoy adding original art each and every week.

Still, those words I wrote when I first opened my shop remain true. Still the mom of three boys and still learning something new everyday.

Pumpkin Fun!

I hope you all had a nice relaxing weekend!  I sure enjoyed having an extra day off from work.  And now 'Tis the Season... I started making these pieces because I wanted to match the appeal of vintage with a new modern feel. I am constantly collecting antiques to match with my art. I love that each piece is totally unique and takes on a life of its own.

 

Snow Birds

A Flock of Three

This listing is for 3 unique snow birds that has been sculpted, carved, painted, and antiqued by me. They are mounted on a white antiqued block that is 2x2" and 3x3". Also I have updated their legs, they are now mounted on dark colored kiln dried wood. The birds themselves vary from 6" and 8" tall. 

 

 

 Blue Hat Snowman on Antique Toy Block

These snowmen have an incredible vintage feel, yet they are like nothing you have ever seen before.

 

 

Santa Vintage Inspired Folk Art

This piece is quietly reminiscent of Christmases of yesterday, but it also has a totally unique, colorful, creative look.  I sculpted this piece, carved it, painted it, antiqued it, and finished it with a fine layer of snow (glitter).  St. Nick is mounted on an antique toy block (2x2") and his arms are attached with antique piece of wire. Each St. Nick is about 12 inches tall.

"This little Fairy was created by me, Kim Owens, using my own hand made clay. Once dried, she was hand painted using acrylic paint. Chalks and oils were then applied to create highlights and shadows and then she was antiqued to bring out all the details. Finally she was coated with a matte sealer to protect her paint and keep her colors vibrant for years to come."

Franchesca Fashionista ~ The Fashion Fairy

Franchesca is the first in a series of larger fairies. She's 4 inches long by 4 inches wide and will come to you signed, dated and ready for display. Her shoes were created using custom colored polymer clay, as was her matching purse.
