Quilted Steampunk Necklace

This steampunk inspired necklace is handcrafted from polymer clay. It has many details including a tiny key dangling from the pendant, a leather strap made from clay, and polymer clay screws. The chain is a mixture of various chains and elements put together by me to form one lovely and unique necklace with a lobster clasp. The necklace can be adjusted to a shorter length.

Hoot Hoot ~  Fredrick is made of polymer clay.  He measures 1.5 inches tall.  (If you would prefer a different color combo, don't hesitate to ask... I can make him in pretty much any color you would like)

Polymer Clay Brooch with Recycled Vintage Earring

Polymer clay brooch made with a recycled vintage earring as the centerpiece. This is a statement brooch and a piece of wearable art titled, "Springtime Fan". This pin is entirely original and OOAK.  The vintage earring is originally from a pair of quality costume jewelry earrings made in the 1960's. It is a clear 3" Bakelite tear drop shaped finding with iridescent flakes and a large rhinestone in the center bottom. The round cabochon at the top is 18mm and the background of polymer clay can be seen through it.  The brooch has been sanded and buffed to a high gloss finish. There is no paint used, all color is polymer clay. A sturdy pin finding with safety latch has been adhered to and secured with a layer of baked polymer clay. I use Sculpey III and Premo polymer clay.

Ballet Star of the Recital

This little one makes me chuckle. Appears to me she's in her own world picturing herself as the next prima ballerina of world renown. She's made, without molds, from polymer clay and stands 5-1/2" tall. Her tutu and hair are also made of polymer clay. Her waist band is made of micro glass beads. Her fingers have been wired internally for strength and she has been blushed with Genesis Heat Set paints that do not fade. She is for display only. She comes with a guarantee to make people smile. 

 An Oriental Flair Pendant

This nice pendant made up of polymer clay with lovely colors, black, cream, dark purplish red and and antique brown...  Nice color combination, can match all kinds of outfits.  This pendant measures approximately 5.5 cm (2.17 inch) through the diameter.  Lobster clasp & chain fastening for adjusting the length .. approx 44 - 50cm ( 17.34" - 19.70")

 Oriental Snowflake Rabbit

This bright orange rabbit with a subtle pattern of the on its back looks like a tongue of flame. It will look good on a strict neutral background.  This miniature is a fabulous and affordable gift for you. Or for someone beloved.  This handmade, collectible rabbit is a one-of-a-kind piece (OOAK). It was hand sculpted of Premo! Polymer Clay. It has a tinfoil armature. It is about 8,5 cm (3 1/8") length. It is tinted and painted with oil paints. The eyes are of black glass beads and look so realistic :) It is signed and dated. I do not use any molds to create my beautiful rabbits. So all of them are unique, and they can never be recreated.

 

 

The Littlest Angel

Can't you just hear the older angel? "Once upon a time way down on earth..."  The little angel looks up at the face of the older angel and listens, quite enchanted with the story. They sit, nestled close together surrounded by soft moss. Perhaps they have been wading in a stream or playing in the sand along a beach because they are barefooted.  If they were standing up, the adult angel would be 7 inches tall and the little one just barely 4 inches tall They are seated on a base made of celluclay and moss over styrofoam and mounted on wood The wooden base is 4x6 inches. The figures are sculpted of polymer clay over aluminum armatures.

My Newest Polymer Clay Sculpture - Ready for My First Day of School

Hello!!  As many of you know, I am a member of The Polymer Clay Enthusiasts Team on Etsy (PCETeam).  Each month the team members can participate in challenges presented at the beginning of the month.  For July, one of the challenges was to create something with a 'Back to School' theme. With my daughter's visit here, and being busy with summer activities, work and life itself, I thought I was going to run out of time to participate in this challenge.  July seemed to fly by and here we are at the last day of the month.  Talk about getting my challenge piece in 'just under the wire'!!!  LOL!  I had the idea in my head all month, I thought of it when I heard what the challenge was.  I was so pleased with how it turned out and hope you enjoy seeing it.  Introducing: "Ready for My First Day of School"

This darling little freckle faced boy is sitting atop two big books (of course I had to have one of the books be titled 'ART').  His little red backpack is sitting behind him and he's holding a great big pencil.  I antiqued the piece to bring out the details. 

 As I was making this piece, I was remembering each of my kids' first days of school... Such wonderful memories I have of those days!  :)  I thought this would be a sweet figurine to have ~ to commemorate a child's first school days, and it would also be a darling cake topper!  Click HERE to see more about 'Ready for My First Day of School' and THANK YOU so much for visiting today!

Debbie developed a love of art and painting over 45 years ago. As a young girl she would draw and paint when time allowed. When she was in her senior year of high school she was very excited to take the painting class that was offered and then after graduation she put her love of art on the back burner. Debbie now lives on a small farm in Northern Minnesota called the Dinglebee and has two grown wonderful boys who are in college and her husband Mark is a custom home builder in the area. After 30 years Debbie picked her paint brushes out of the dust and started to paint wall murals for local people and also some of the businesses in the area. She has now discovered not only painting again, but the love of clay sculptures, glass painting, canvas, wall murals, .. and the list goes on.

Polymer clay has opened a new door for Debbie and she loves it as much as she does painting. She is a self taught artist in most all the mediums that she works with and is a amateur doll maker. Debbie started a collection of Gnomes out of this clay and hopes to continue making them, and now has branched into fairies with music boxes, and Christmas elves . Many of Debbie's items are not in her Etsy Shop as they are in local stores.

How Do You Do

Gnome and Fairy Music Box

 

This one of kind music box is hand made by Debbie Nelson. This whimsical sculpture will spark that imagination that some of us have lost. It plays music (The Waltz Of The Flowers) by turning the base of sculpture and then the top of mushroom rotates. The gnome and fairy are hand sculpted from polymer clay and fired at a high temp. With his wild brown hair and real kike eyes, this gnome stands on top of The mushroom which is a olive wood bowl that Debbie sanded and finished with two different stains. In his hand is the dainty hand of the little fairy he has just met. His coat is of blue wool his hat is red velvet. Fabrics are hand sewn and glued from all different textures and embellishments of leather and beads, sparkles and trim. The base, which holds the music instrument, is of a cedar wood that is hand made, stained and sealed.

My Polymer Clay Cowboy and Pirate

A little Show-and-Tell today!  I just finished two custom orders, a Cowboy with a Stick Horse and a Pirate. Many of you may have already seen my little Pirate, but this one has a little addition.  My customer wanted a Palm Tree and a Treasure Trunk to go with her Pirate.  I thought the scene turned out so cute, so I wanted to share! 

Next is a darling little Cowboy wearing his cowboy hat and boots, holding his stick-horse in his lap.  He's wearing a badge with his initials on it.  My customer wanted one of my horses, but because it's a Cake Topper for a first birthday she was concerned about size.  She decided a stick horse would be a good idea and I agree, it turned out so cute!  As I was creating this little guy, it brought back memories of when my kids were little.  In fact, we still have my daughter's stick-horse from when she was little.  It's here in our basement, she always loved it and kept it all these years!

My Newest Clay Creations!

I am working in my studio this week, creating a Fairy and can't wait to present her to the world... She's a work in progress and a lot of fun!  She's 'Coming Soon' ~ In the meantime, I recently finished two new pieces; A little Giraffe and a Teddy Bear Wedding Cake Topper.  And... When you scroll to the end of this post, you'll see my Love Snails and Fun Clown Sculpture!

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥  This sweet little Giraffe would be a fun topper, or a special gift for a Baby Shower.  She sits approximately 2 1/4" tall and is wearing a big pink bow.

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥  Looking quite dapper in his top hat and bow tie, this teddy bear groom is proudly standing beside his sweet teddy bear bride. She's holding her beautiful bouquet of roses and spring flowers, and they are standing on a heart shaped base.  The base has a stamped design around the edge and is highlighted with gold mica powder.  Standing approximately 3" tall, these little Teddy Bears are ready to celebrate a very special wedding!
