(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥ This darling Wedding cake topper features a Doctor, Nurse and two sweet little girls.  Dressed in pink and purple, the little girls are holding bouquets of roses.  The bride 'nurse' is dressed in pink scrubs, wearing a nurse's hat and holding a slightly larger bouquet of pink and white roses.  The groom 'doctor' is wearing navy blue scrubs with a white doctor's coat and a stethoscope around his neck.  A little plaque, outlined with vines and leaves, displays the wedding date.

My customer has already received the above topper and this is the feedback I received from her ~ It makes my work so much more worthwhile to receive such wonderful feedback:

The Rose

It's Treasury Tuesday!
I put together a beautiful collection of polymer clay Roses!
 All created by Etsy Artisans!!

Roses are one of my very favorite flowers.  Through the years we've had many beautiful rose bushes,  and I always enjoyed picking bouquets of them to bring in the house.  We've had red rose bushes that produced big roses that looked as if they were made of velvet.  We've had yellow, lavender, salmon, pink and white roses, they filled our yard and home with the most lovely fragrance!  I miss my rose bushes... We really should think about planting some here, to fill this yard with their beauty!!  The rose is so delicate, so fragrant and so beautiful!!

As a flower in the garden
Bending toward the sun,
Unfolds it's tiny petals
One, by one, by one...
So faith expands it's beauty
Until at last it grows
Into life's lasting flower...
The heart's fair perfect rose.
~Rebecca Helmann~

Do not watch the petals fall from the rose with sadness,
know that, like life, things sometimes must fade before they can bloom again.

Polymer Clay Enthusiasts Team on Etsy...

.¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨)
(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥ Hello Everyone!

I am a proud member of the Polymer Clay Enthusiasts Team (PCE Team) on Etsy and I would like to tell you a little bit about our team.  On November 11, 2010 the team was established and I am happy to say that we are really growing!  We currently have 142 members!  Our team is made up of  so many very talented and creative members, whose polymer clay creations range from jewelry and beads to cake toppers and figurines ~ and all kinds of wonderful things in-between.

The PCE Team is open to all who create with polymer clay and sell their creations in their Etsy Shops.  It's a great place to get to know fellow polymer clay enthusiasts, and for sharing great tips and polymer clay knowledge with each other.  There are lively, informative, fun and interesting discussions to participate in, and great team challenges, where we can create wonderfully diverse treasuries... and much, much more...

In November, the Captain of our team posted an invitation on her blog and the following is what she wrote:

"We'd love to invite any and all polymer clay artists on Etsy to join our team.  The only requirement is that you work with and sell polymer clay items in your Etsy store.  This is NOT an open team.  We have done this so that only those people who are polymer clay artists, hobby-ists, and artisans can participate."

I thought I could help get her word out, by posting it here on my blog too!  So, if you think this Team is for you, please come check it out, find out more...

My Studio...

Well, as promised, here are some pictures of my "Clayroom"!  It's pretty much all set up, just have a couple more things to unpack and find places for.  And I do have to figure out some kind of closet door...

I just love working in that room with those two nice windows, letting in all the light.  It was like Christmas a bit early, when I started unpacking my studio boxes - hadn't seen a lot of my stuff since 2007, when it was all packed away.  I feel so much more organized, and love having the tools I need right at my fingertips!  One of the best parts of that room is the bed - I will be adding more pillows so that it will be like a couch for people to come in and chat with me - then, when we have overnight guests, they'll have a nice place to sleep.  I am so happy to say that our first overnight guest will be our daughter!  She just sent me her itinerary for her trip here, and I was thrilled to hear that she'll be staying for two weeks - she'll be here for both Christmas and New Years!!  Her dad, brother and I are so happy about that, as are the other family members and friends here in Michigan!  We'll have time for all of our family traditions... making Christmas cookies together and attempting to make my family's Christmas Eve dinner. (Wish us luck on that one!)  It's a big traditional Italian Christmas Eve dinner (calamari, and two other fish dishes ~ as well as three different kinds of pasta dishes) which I have never prepared by myself, this will be the first time.  My daughter insisted that we try, we'll see how it turns out...  we will have fun either way, just being together. Times when we are all together are pretty rare now that my kids are all grown up!  I am so thankful for the precious moments when we can all be together!!

My New Studio and First Treasury... A Busy Weekend!

I have been working on getting my studio set up this weekend... I sure have a lot of 'stuff' here and there, in the basement and in the house!  It does accumulate, and for the longest time I haven't been able to unpack everything, so it feels great to get this done finally.  It will be so nice to have it all in one room and easily accessible!  Thought I would post a "before" picture - and hopefully I will be able to post an "after" picture (of the entire room) soon!  So far, I only have my work area set up.

I took a "time-out" from setting up my studio and I put together my very first treasury on Etsy.  I am a member of the Polymer Clay Enthusiasts Team (PCETeam) on Etsy,  and we have a "Weekend Treasury Challenge" going on this weekend.  I had never put together a treasury before, and had so much fun with this one.  I must say, it was very difficult to pick only 16 items!  So many wonderful creations by so many talented etsians!!!

Click on the link (under "Read More" - below) and take a peek! :)

Creativity Everywhere!

I had so much fun creating these three custom order cake toppers!!  One is a Wedding Cake topper, so cute... two little sheep.  The couple who purchased the sheep topper live in the UK.  I love how the internet allows people to easily purchase things from all over the world... and it's quite something to think that one of my little creations will adorn the wedding cake of  someone from another country!

The other two cake toppers were a unique idea... the couple wanted to represent their hobbies on the Grooms Cake - her hobby is photography, and he plays the guitar.  These two toppers took more time than I had anticipated, but I really enjoyed creating them.  I thought that I would share all these fun wedding cake toppers here on my blog.

Now that I am finished with these three custom orders, my ideas are flowing about what to create next... my mind, however, works faster than my fingers... That's probably a good thing - because if I ever get them all created, there will be absolutely no room for anything else in my house!  Clay creations everywhere!!  There are already many cute and whimsical clay creatures filling up lots of places in the house right now.  Good thing my family likes my work!  I have started, and nearly filled, an entire notebook of ideas taken straight from my imagination, and can't wait to start on the next one.  Etsy has been a great place to have a shop for showcasing and selling my items.  So many wonderfully creative, talented and helpful fellow artisans!
