Our Little Emmi

 

That's our sweet little Emmi!  She sure brings all of us so much joy and laughter!  She's eight years old, (her birthday is December 5th).  She loves to chase critters, a born hunter for sure!!  She loves to play, and even though she has a basket full of toys, she has her few special favorites that she most often picks to play with.  When she digs through her basket, (which is absolutely the cutest thing to watch her do!!), and picks a toy to play with, she'll sit beside it, very quietly, hoping someone will notice that she wants to play fetch.  She likes to chase golf balls, when daddy throws them for her in the back yard.  She runs, ears flopping in the breeze, so adorable!  She LOVES to bark at animals on the TV, which is always fun for those of us trying to watch TV!  lol!  When she sees that one of her humans is getting ready to go somewhere without her, she sure knows how to look at us to make us feel guilty... That look, melts your heart!!  When we come home, or even wake up in the morning, Emmi is soooo excited to see us, she wiggles so much, she can hardly contain herself!  It's as though she hasn't seen us in a very long time, even if it's only been a half hour!!!  I work from home, and she's my little shadow all day long, following me where ever I go!  She hates wet grass, dislikes the snow, but she loves to taunt her sister dog Izzie!  She can definitely get grouchy at times, when she thinks Izzie is being especially bothersome.  She'll growl at her, and then she'll lunge at Izzie's neck to let her know who's boss!  They have a love/hate relationship, that's for sure!  Izzie watches out for Emmi, and Emmi keeps her eye on Izzie.  Emmi loves her humans, and we are so lucky to be loved by her!!  Although she loves to 'hunt for critters' and lunge at Izzie, she has the most gentle and sweet heart!  

Sadly, Emmy was diagnosed with a heart murmur last year, and it has recently gotten worse.  She's on three different kinds of medications now, and the good news is that she's doing great on the meds.  So thankful for our veterinarian, and for the medications that are helping her to live a longer life!!!!  We have to take her in for check-ups more frequently now... I think, that she thinks, that every time she gets to go for a ride in the car, she'll be going to the vet!  But she likes everyone there, and they love her.  

Anyway, there are horses behind the vet hospital, and last time we were there, the horses were out.  We took Emmi over to see them, she was so excited to visit them.  

 

One of the baby horses was especially curious and friendly, came right over to check us out...

Emmi and the baby horse made fast friends!  I thought this was such a cute picture, and wanted to share it with you, and to share a little about our sweet Emmi.

A Bride, Groom and Nine Dogs!

Yes, that's right... Nine Dogs!  My customers wanted their whole 'family' to be a part of their big day.  Along with a Bride and Groom topper, they also wanted whimsical versions of each of their dogs, including two who have passed away.  They asked if I could make those two with little wings.  I created groupings of the dogs, each with little plaques for each of their names.  The bride and groom will be on the top, and the groupings can be placed however they wish on their wedding cake.  These are wonderful keepsakes of their special day, of their family, to be enjoyed and displayed in their home for years to come!

Yellow Lab Puppy Wedding Cake Topper

I thought my newest wedding topper looked a little like they could be dressed up to celebrate the coming of a New Year too!  This topper is one of my favorite custom orders, turned out so adorable!!  Of course, I kind of have an attachment to all of my clay creations, and it's difficult to 'say good-bye' each time I mail them off to their new homes... An original needle felted wool painting. I was inspired by my beautiful little garden in the back of my house here in Israel. The sun is so warm and the garden is blooming. My younger children help me take care of it. I tried to depict the warmth and beauty of this amazing land.

This wool painting is created with the finest Shetland and Merino wool. No drawing or glue was used to make this - it's all intuitive, made spontaneously with a special needle. That Look...

Oh my goodness... Some days, well ALL days actually, it's so difficult to leave the house with this little one looking at you!  When we have to leave and she has to stay, she can really pour on the guilt with THAT LOOK!  But she forgives us for having to leave her home, and she wiggles and waggles and is so excited when she sees us again!  It's like she hasn't seen us in many, many days!!  In fact, if we leave the room for just a little bit, we get that same wiggly reaction when we return!  LOL!  Dear sweet Emmi!  Don't our babies bring us lots of joy and love?!  :)  

As you can tell, she spends a lot of time laying on the back of the couch looking out the window... It's her favorite place to spend time.  There are a lot of birds, chipmunks, squirrels... And living here, there's also a lot of raccoons, opossum, bunnies... Izzie and Emmi keep each other company while we are out, and they keep busy watching out for critters.  Izzie's not allowed on the couch, but she jumps right up there when no-one is looking and then jumps right down when someone re-enters the room.  She thinks she has us fooled, but her white hair gives her away every time!  That look Emmi gives us... We always get a similar look from Izzie when we leave the house, but we don't get the same wiggly reaction when we get home, she just barks, and boy that one can bark LOUD!

Yup, that's Izzie's LOOK!

Today I am happy to be featuring my Mom's brand new Etsy Shop!  She's creating these darling Headbands for little girls using buttons and bows.  Ladybug Black and White Girls Headband

I always loved Ladybugs ~ so cute with their polka dot wings. This Ladybug found the perfect home nestled into a black and white Gingham bow.  The headband is very soft and stretchy and will not leave marks on your little one's head. Great for everyday wear or for special occasions.

 

 

My Puppy Headband

There a little puppy peeking out of the silk flower on this bright red headband. The puppy was created out of polymer clay and has glass beads for his bright little eyes. A chiffon bow with a crystal decorates this already darling headband, a delight for any little girl.

Dora the Explorer and Boots Headband

Is there a Dora the Explorer fan at your house? She would be delighted with this big 5" brightly colored bow featuring Dora the Explorer and her monkey Boots. Take notice of the glittered blue heart which compliments this beautifully blue colored headband.
