A Bride and Groom Roasting Marshmallows!

I had such fun creating this sweet and fun wedding cake topper!

A happy Bride and Groom sitting on little logs, roasting marshmallows over a campfire.  This was such a fun custom order!  Entirely made of polymer clay, there is a lot of great detail in this topper!  The bride has her brown hair up in a bun. Her dress is in an ivory color with beaded flower embellishments and she is holding a bouquet of pink and white flowers in her lap. The groom has brown hair and he is wearing a black tux, white shirt, and a lime green vest and tie, with a white and lime green boutonniere.  They are holding little sticks with marshmallows at the ends, held out over the campfire. I created little rocks that outline the fire-pit, little logs and the fire all out of clay. They are on a base made to look like grass, which is approximately 4" in diameter and they approximately 4" high.  Newly listed in my Etsy Shop, click HERE to see the listing.

Our Weekend Camping!

We had such a great weekend camping!  It was Melissa's last weekend here, before she heads back home to Texas, so we decided to spend the weekend together and go to our favorite campgrounds; Old Orchard Park in Oscoda, Michigan ~ off the AuSable River.  George and his family went camping there through the years while he was growing up, and we also took our kids camping there through the years as they were growing up.

This was the first weekend, this summer, that we went camping and took our boat out.  The weatherman said there was a 30% chance of spotty showers.  As we were driving up north it began to rain a little bit... Then, as we were setting up our tent, it started to POUR!  No fun setting up a tent in the rain. (I'm not big on sleeping in a tent either... Yay for air mattresses!!!!)  Anyway, we quickly set up the screen over the picnic table, so we would have a dry(er) area to sit and wait out the rain. Once the rain stopped (quite a bit later) we found that a 'mini lake' had formed around, and was seeping under, our tent... So we had to move it.  Our tent leaked a little and most EVERYTHING was soaked and dirty!  Including our dogs!!

Emmi, waiting for the rain to stop...
Izzie is under the picnic table all curled up!

We definitely picked the wrong spot to set up the tent! :)

We began to think the weatherman didn't know what he was talking about and that it was going to rain most of the weekend, but thankfully it cleared up nicely and by Monday it was gorgeous!  After moving our tent, the rain died down enough that we went out on the river, on our boat, for a little while... The kids even caught some fish!  Melissa's friend, Emily, came up and spent the first night with us.  It was so nice to have her there.  She, Melissa and George had a great time fishing, swimming and playing in the sand dunes!  George and his Dad competed against the girls each time they were out on the boat, fishing.  I just enjoyed watching, and taking care of the dogs on the boat.  They are fantastic 'four legged camping/boating/fishing' friends, and were quite worn out by Monday afternoon.  As far as fishing went, Melissa caught the biggest fish, an 18" Small Mouth Bass, her dad came in second catching an 17"!  All four of them caught various sizes of Small Mouth Bass, Perch, Blue Gill, Sunfish, and Rock Bass, and we even had some keepers for a dinner!  When the clouds began to clear away, we got sunburned... Right through the sunscreen!  Sunburns and all, it was a lot of fun, the weekend went by fast and now we are back to 'the real world' ~ I Thought you'd enjoy seeing some of our pictures...

Our Campsite, after the rain dried up a bit...

Getting Ready to launch the boat! Yay!

The Sand Dune that the kids walked up and
ran down!  Then they jumped in the river to cool off!

Emmi got SO excited when a fish was caught,
she had to check out each and every one!

Izzie, watching all the action from her
favorite spot at the front of the boat!

Melissa's 18" catch... The biggest of the weekend!

This mama duck and her four little babies
hung around us for the longest time!

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥  Old Orchard Park and The AuSable River are just beautiful.  We enjoyed the scenery from the boat, and as we took walks around the beach and through the campgrounds. It was especially beautiful at sunset.

All tired out at the end of a great weekend! :)

Anticipation...

Well, it's 11:55 PM and I really should be sleeping.  I have to get up early and go to work.  But... My daughter, Melissa, is on her way here, to Michigan, from Texas.  I'm so excited for her visit, we've all been looking forward to it.  She was here at Christmas, so it's been a while since we've seen her.  She is driving straight through the night, just her and her puppy dog, Emmi. So I'm being 'mom' and I'm worrying...  I tried to talk her into staying at a hotel, but she's determined to drive straight through.  So... Since I couldn't sleep, I thought I should do something to keep my mind occupied! I recently came across some pictures, and was just looking through them.  I thought I'd share a few here tonight.  I found the CUTEST pictures of Emmi, from the summer she and Melissa lived here in Michigan.  Emmi is such a sweet dog, and how she loves to chase critters!  She is going to enjoy being back up here for a few weeks to run and play in our yard.  We are not sure how she will get along with our dog, Izzie.  She loves people, but isn't always that thrilled with other dogs.

Here's Emmi... She's half Yorkie and half Maltese and 100 percent spoiled!  When I posted this picture on Facebook, I wrote: "Emmi, all 'dressed up' and looking for critters" ~ Melissa commented back:  "I love this!!!! Typical Emmi :) so cute, so naughty, and so spoiled!!!!" And I said: "SO TRUE!"  :)

How she LOVES being out on the lake on our boat!  Ears flopping in the breeze, as the water is spraying her face!

"Seems my food is just out of reach"
Emmi's food really wasn't just out of reach... But it sure looks as though it is in this picture! Cute! :)

These 'summer fun with Emmi' pictures were fun to share with you tonight!  Now it's summertime again, and we are so happy that we will have Melissa and her little Emmi, here with us for a little while.  It will be wonderful, the four of us (and our two doggies) camping, boating, visiting family, and making more memories together!!  I'll let you know how it goes with Emmi and Izzie... It should be interesting!  Izzie will want to play (all 60+ pounds of her) and Emmi will want NO part of it... That's what I'm thinking anyway.

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥ Well, I think I should get some sleep, it's after 1:15 AM now!  :)  Wishing my darling Melissa a safe journey here, and wishing all of you sweet dreams!
