Etsy Finds Friday - California Spoon Rings

It's **Etsy Finds Friday**
Today I am featuring the
Beautiful Antique Silver Spoon Rings
Created by:
Tom and Jessica Dickson of
California Spoon Rings

Tom and Jessica Dickson have such a beautiful variety of silverplate and sterling silver spoon rings which have been crafted from vintage silverware.  There are so many to choose from, here are just a few.  The spoons they select to create their pieces were in service for many years. As a result, small nicks or slight imperfections may be visible on their rings, which only add to their antique charm.  Each spoon ring has been bent, cut, and polished right in their studio.

Working in My Studio...

I hope you enjoyed a beautiful Christmas!  We enjoyed our day and a beautiful meal with our family.  Not wanting to spoil any Christmas surprises I have not posted any of the pieces that I have recently created.  Now that it is after Christmas, I thought that I would share a few of them with you today.

.¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨)
(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥  For this first one, my customer asked me to create a whimsical likeness of a favorite photograph of her Mom's, which she sent to me.  The photograph is of her mom reading a book with their dog, Sadie, laying beside her.  There is a glass of wine on the arm of the couch, which my customer wanted included.  Last year I had created a figurine of Sadie laying in her bed with her favorite toy.  Sadie had passed away, so it meant so much to my customer to give the figurine to her Mom last year.  This year she wanted something special like that for her Mom's Christmas gift.  I really enjoyed creating this one!!  She sent great feedback when she received the figurine in the mail, and also wrote to me after her Mom opened her gift on Christmas Eve, to let me know how much it meant to her Mom.  That was very sweet of her, and I appreciate it so much!  It does my heart good to know that something I created means so much to my very awesome customer and to her Mom!!   Here are a couple more pictures from different angles:

.¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨)
(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥  This next one was ordered by a customer who has also purchased something else from me before.  She wanted a park scene of her son, daughter-in-law and their dog.  She asked that her son be sitting under a tree with their dog, and his wife across from them taking a picture.  This one was different for me, a bigger figurine with the tree.  I put a blue bird in a nest sitting in a tree branch, added flowers and even a little spider climbing up the side of the tree.  I was pleased to know that she is very happy with the figurine and I thank her for the honor of creating it!!

.¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨)
(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥  I have a 'Wooden' Rocking Horse listed in my Etsy Shop (You can see it by clicking HERE) ~ My customer asked if I could make it into an ornament for a child's first Christmas.  She wanted a white horse with black spots instead of the brown one she saw listed, so this is what I created for her:

.¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨)
(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥  One last thing to share today... A customer wrote to me and told me that her husband is in the Army and in Iraq now.  She said that there is a grandmother who has befriended her husband, and that her grandchildren have sent him letters and gifts for his last three deployments.  She wanted to give each of them something really special for Christmas.  She sent me a photograph of her husband in uniform and I created these darling Keepsake Ornaments for her, personalizing each one by the child's favorite sport, or hobby and their favorite colors.  She wanted thirteen all together.  I sent the first three to her separately, for her own grandchildren.  These are the ten she gave as gifts to the grandmother and her grandchildren.  All of them were a lot of fun to create, I had a real little assembly line going in my studio!

.¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨)
(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥  Thanks so much for stopping by today and for taking a peek at what I've been up to in my studio this Christmas season!!  As this year comes to a close and a New Year begins, I wish you much joy, laughter and happiness!!  :)  ~Trina

Merry Christmas!

From our house to yours, wishing you a very Merry Christmas
and a Blessed New Year!!

.¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨)
(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥  We went to the same Christmas Tree farm as last year, to pick out and cut down a tree.  Although this time it was certainly a lot different.  We picked a very blustery day last year!  There was a lot more snow at the same time last year, than there was this year!  You can Click HERE to see pictures of our Christmas Tree Farm experience on that blustery day! :)   And here are some pictures from last week...

Picking out our tree... Our daughter is peeking out on the right!

.¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨)
(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥  Even though they shook the tree before putting it through the 'netting machine' there were still a lot of tiny pine cones that remained.  They are so cute and look great among our decorations on the tree!

Although not snowing, it was cold and we enjoyed some
Hot Chocolate while being warmed by the fire!

.¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨)
(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥  Most of our decorations are handmade.  As I was growing up we made dough art ornaments and we continued that tradition with our children as they were growing up.  Every year our kids would also make special gifts for us, with the help of their grandma (my mom) and they are such fun to unwrap and display every year.  Each year all of our ornaments bring back so many special memories as we prepare for Christmas.

.¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨)
(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥ To all my followers, friends and family... Thank you for following my blog, and for all your wonderful comments!  Wishing each of you many Blessings, much laughter and love in the coming year!!!   ~Trina

Water Pitcher Upcycled
Water Pitcher Upcycled
By: Clay Illusions
One of a kind upcycled water pitcher or even a utensil holder. This would also make a unique gift. More than 10 hours of work went into making this piece, starting with a blocks of clay to a finished product.  I use slices of my custom made polymer clay canes to cover objects. The color and design is built into the clay. I cut slices off of the cane and apply thousands of these tiny slices in different colors to the found object to create a design. This procedure creates an amazingly beautiful piece of useable handmade art with texture. This piece can be hand washed.

Etsy Finds Friday - Wire Wrapped Gemstone Jewelry

It's **Etsy Finds Friday**
Today I am featuring the
Beautiful Handmade Wire Wrapped
Gemstone Jewelry
Created by:
Carolyn Moran
of Care More Creations
About the Artist:
Carolyn was born in a small town in Northwest Pennsylvania where she was raised on a farm by two wonderful loving parents. It is there where she learned to love and appreciate nature in all its glory. Carolyn currently lives with her husband on the Kenai River in Alaska where she is surrounded by beautiful mountains, soaring eagles, splashing salmon and of course the occasional wandering moose and bear. She draws her inspiration from her surroundings, family and friends. All of her life she has loved to create...since childhood when she discovered that her hands and her heart were her best tools! You name it, Carolyn probably attempted to create it, but her love of nature together with her love of fashion has inspired her to create this dramatic line of jewelry. She has finally found her niche. Carolyn LOVES making these unique treasures. Every morning she can't wait to get up, put on a pot of coffee and make another one!

Orange Sea Sediment Jasper Wire Wrapped Pendant Necklace in Antique Bronze
Orange Sea Sediment Jasper
Wire Wrapped Pendant
This Trinkette is a vivid orange sea sediment jasper pendant necklace that I handcrafted swirling and shaping antique bronze toned copper wire by hand, adding bright orange swarovski crystals and a wood bead to create an elegant setting that enhances the natural beauty, color and shape of the genuine gemstone. This teardrop shaped gemstone has earthy markings of brown, beige umongst vivid and varying shades of orange. The elegant wire-wrapped setting, together with the earthy gemstone create a beautiful and dramatic pendant that can be worn with formal attire or casual with your favorite jeans.
Crazy Lace Agate Wire Wrapped Earrings - Lavender Dangle Stone Earrings
Lavender Crazy Lace Agate Wire Wrapped Earrings
These lavender crazy lace agate wire wrapped dangle earrings were handcrafted swirling and shaping nontarnish silver plate wire by hand, creating unique elegant settings to enhance the natural beauty of the gemstones. The oval gemstones have a lacey pattern throughout, making these earrings dramatic and feminine. Stylish handmade Care More Jewelry is sure to add a touch of natural drama to your fashion wardrobe.

Picasso Jasper Wire Wrapped Pendant Necklace in Antique Bronze
Picasso Jasper Wire Wrapped Pendant Necklace
"Autumn Sunset" is a Picasso Jasper gemstone wire wrapped pendant necklace that I handcrafted swirling and shaping antique bronze toned copper wire by hand, adding topaz, aquamarine and rose quartz chips to create a unique and elegant setting that showcases the natural scenic landscape created by the markings and colors of the stone. This large round stone has earthy pastel shades of blue, pink and gold with brown and gold striations. This jasper displays crackle vintage-like markings giving it a rustic country charm. Notice how the natural markings portray a landscape watercolor of a country lake at sunset in autumn.

In the Artist's Own Words:
"ABOUT MY JEWELRY I start by personally selecting a beautiful semiprecious stone, or perhaps discovering that “perfect treasure” along one of my nature walks. These stones are what inspire my designs. I then swirl and shape 10k gold-filled, sterling silver plate or copper wire by hand, adding small trinkets such as vintage beads, charms, Swarovski crystals and natural elements such as shells, stone chips and wood to create an original and unique setting to showcase the natural beauty and shape of each stone. Over the past several years I have developed my own unique style of wire-wrapping. The many swirls, curves and turns of the wire are completely created based on what each unique gemstone tells me to do. Mother Nature has been my best teacher and always my inspiration."
