Custom Made Wedding Cake Toppers

I just finished two Custom Made Wedding Cake Toppers, each with a different theme and feel.  One is a beach theme and the other is a winery theme.  That's the beauty of custom wedding cake toppers, they can be personalized just for the celebrated couple.  Things can be added that have special meaning to the bride and groom.  Of course, the wedding colors, flowers, wedding dress, tux or suite can all be customized to create a likeness of the bride and groom on their wedding day.  It's always fun when they want their pets included too, and that makes their topper even more personalized, capturing that moment in their life in a keepsake to be treasured always.

Beach Theme Wedding Cake Topper

A 'sand' base, a little tie dye fish and the wedding date written inside a heart drawn in the sand.  Orange, pink and yellow are the wedding colors and look at the little Yorkie, happy to be part of such a special day!

Winery Theme Wedding Cake Topper

A 'grass' base, with grapes, grapevines and grape leaves around the plaque with the bride and groom's names and wedding date.  White, silver and burgundy are the wedding colors.  This dog is a big one, with a big smile, happy on this special day!

A Couple of My Very First Sculptures...

I thought I would share with you a couple of my very first polymer clay sculptures.  Both were created in 2004.  I remember, I would watch The Carol Duvall show in the mornings when I was getting ready for work.  She would have polymer clay artists on her show quite often.  My Mom watched the show too, and we would talk about how polymer clay looked like such fun.  We were amazed at the art pieces that were created, and such a wide range, from beautiful and unique jewelry to sweet figurines... And so much more!  There are amazingly talented polymer clay artisans out there, and each one inspires me!

Through the years, Mom and I (and later, my own kids) sculpted using salt dough to make Christmas ornaments.  I really wanted to try polymer clay.  For my birthday in 2003, my Mom gave me a basket filled with polymer clay, clay tools, a book and other goodies to get started.  Well, needless to say, I fell in love with this art medium, and was immediately obsessed!  I didn't have a studio back then, we did our crafting right on the kitchen table... Soon I bought a little desk and put it in our game room and in NO time at all there were little polymer clay figurines on every surface in that room!  A big THANK YOU to my Mom!  That basket full of polymer clay goodies was a wonderful gift and it took my life in a whole new direction!  Working with clay brings me so much joy.  I am always imagining new things to create, and love custom work.  I love personalizing my pieces for special occasions that have special meaning to my customers.   Going back in time a little bit... Here are two of my very first polymer clay sculptures:

A Day at the Fishing Hole

This first one is a little boy fishing, with his tackle box and fishing guide book beside him.  He is sitting on a hill with a little green frog.  I realized, even back when I first started sculpting with polymer clay, that the little details are my favorite part!  They are what make my pieces 'come to life' ~ Like this little boy's tiny toes, the tackle box, the waves of the water splashing onto the sand, the rocks... Such fun!

The next one is a little girl in her garden.  She's planting seeds and has a cute little watering can beside her.  She's wearing her little red sneakers, her hair is up in pigtails and she has little freckles on her face.

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥  I've made many, many polymer clay sculptures since these two, but they will always have a special place in my heart.   Thank you for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed seeing a couple of my first polymer clay sculptures!  Wishing you a great day!  ~Trina

A Nest Left Behind...

Getting ready for fall, cleaning up the yard, George found an abandoned nest... Little eggs never hatched.  I thought I would take a picture, I thought the feathers would make a cool photograph.  The eggs, however, they are a picture of nature that was kind of sad to see.  Then, as I walked back toward the house, there was a butterfly, so still, even though I was very close, not moving at all... Then she began to flutter her wings and opened them up beautifully.  It was great to get these shots of the butterfly!  Nature can be sad, and at the same time it is awesome!
