It Feels Like Fall!

Well, I've been wearing sweaters to work this past week, and as I drive around I notice that the trees are changing colors... Yes, it sure feels and looks like Fall!  I do love this time of year, with the cooler temperatures, the fun fall festivals, and the beautiful changing colors in the scenery... The smell in the air... Lovely!  They say the peek of the color change will be sooner (and maybe not as brilliantly colorful) than usual because of our mild winter and fairly dry summer.  I am hoping my Mom will be able to enjoy some of the changing colors when she is here from Texas for a visit.

Well, it seems the little critters know the seasons are changing too, and have begun stocking up for winter.  We have big Black Walnut trees in our yard and a feast of walnuts are dropping to the ground, what lucky squirrels!  Sometime before we take our dogs out in the morning and whenever they are safely inside the house, those squirrels have a field day in the yard!  I took a few pictures of what they have left behind...  (Nice messes for us to clean up! But at least they are all gathered in a few places, instead of all over the yard.  Actually makes it easier on us! lol!)

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥  The other day, when I took Izzy and Emmi outside, one little squirrel didn't want to give up his 'food find' and stayed a bit too long on the tree stump pictured below... All I can say is GOOD thing squirrels can climb trees and dogs CAN'T!  :)

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥  We found out Izzy doesn't like the sound that Hot Air Balloons make... One flew overhead the other day and she thought it was a little 'too close for comfort'!  I didn't get a picture of that one, but I did get a picture of this one and I sure enjoyed seeing it.  Izzy wasn't around at the time, and the balloon lingered over our yard for a bit, I'm sure she probably would have barked at it like crazy had she seen it too.

I have been having fun in my studio, working on some custom orders!  A BIG Thank You to my customers, I had fun creating each and every one!  Here's a little peek of a few...

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥ This darling Wedding cake topper features a Doctor, Nurse and two sweet little girls.  Dressed in pink and purple, the little girls are holding bouquets of roses.  The bride 'nurse' is dressed in pink scrubs, wearing a nurse's hat and holding a slightly larger bouquet of pink and white roses.  The groom 'doctor' is wearing navy blue scrubs with a white doctor's coat and a stethoscope around his neck.  A little plaque, outlined with vines and leaves, displays the wedding date.

My customer has already received the above topper and this is the feedback I received from her ~ It makes my work so much more worthwhile to receive such wonderful feedback:

"Oh my goodness did my topper turn out amazing!!! I do not, do NOT like ppl on my cake but when looking for a unique topper...I stumbled upon Trina's creations and just fell in love with her items and my topper is better than I ever thought it could be!! I'm so excited to see it on my cake! Thanks for your amazing work!"

As if he's winning the video game!!  He stands approximately 4" tall, on a 2 1/2" base.  An orange rope design decorates the base he's standing on, as well as his cowboy hat.  In the picture below you can see the little TV remotes, and aren't those the cutest little pants... pockets and all?!

A Place to Drink Coffee and Watch The Birds...

Very difficult to imagine it right now... sitting, with my cup of coffee, at our little table in the yard!  (Sitting comfortably anyway!!)

I keep looking out my kitchen window at our little table and chairs in our yard and I keep wondering when I will be able to sit out there again... I love to sit out there in the mornings on sunny spring and summer days, enjoying my cup of coffee... Relaxing a bit and soaking in the beauty around me before beginning my day.  It's very peaceful listening to the birds chirp, watching the squirrels romp around.  Last year we had a black squirrel who kept visiting, he had a white ring around his tail... (No, it wasn't a skunk! LOL!)  I wonder if we'll see him again this year.  We get all kinds of different birds visiting us too.  I especially love the Cardinals, they are beautiful!  There's always a lot of activity in the yard.  (Of course that was before Izzie became part of our family... she may chase away all that 'activity'!!  Then it'll just be Izzie, me and my cup of coffee...  Actually, Izzie alone creates a lot of activity, that's for sure!!)  The great thing is ~ we will be outside, and I'm looking forward to the little buds beginning to appear on the trees, the colorful flowers sprouting up, the pretty green grass... Sigh... I think I am ready for SPRING!  I said that the other day to one of the attorney's I work for, and he said; "Yes, but winter closely follows spring."  That wasn't a fun conversation!

So, at the moment I can only dream of sitting at our little table in the yard...  For now all I see is snow when looking out my window, lots and lots of snow... Snow and a lonely little table and chair set!  Too cold for the birds and too cold for me.  Although it is supposed to warm up this week and I am really looking forward to that.  In the meantime, I did get some great winter photographs, which is always fun!  Here are a few ~ all taken in our yard.

*♥* Thanks for visiting!! Have a happy Day! :)
