Holiday Figurines and Toppers

The Holidays are fast approaching and I am getting my Etsy Shop ready... Here are a few of the pieces you'll see when you visit Trina's Clay Creations:

Scarecrow Holding Sunflower

Inspired by a Scarecrow that I saw at a Fall Festival years ago in California, I created this one.  The scarecrow in the festival was standing and very tall, taller than me, and he was looking down at a huge Sunflower.  That Scarecrow was an entry in a Scarecrow contest and I can't remember if it was a winner, but I sure thought it should have been.

One day, while shopping at Michaels (one of my favorite places to shop), I found little wooden blocks.  I thought I could do something fun with them, so I purchased a few.  I wasn't sure what I was going to do... Then my muse visited, a vision came into my head... I thought of making a big beautifully wrapped (clay) present, then I thought it would be so cute to have a little elf sitting on top... So this piece came to life!

This little Elf is one of my favorite creations.  I'm not sure why... Maybe it's her sweet little face half hidden under her big hat, maybe it's the Christmas colors... The feel of the holiday, or maybe it's the message: Peace.

In the Artist's Own Words:

Su Ami is a group of 5 crafters in a family, we are living in Vietnam. Shop title is the nick name of our youngest member of 10 years old, she loves all kind of animals and movie characters that were inspired us for all amigurumi patterns.

Most patterns we choose bright and cheerful colors of wool and creatures are made using different kind of crochet and craft techniques. We are trying to create all cute animals into our collection every month so you will find all lovely animals for home display, collectible toys, special gifts.

To Be Continued...

It is such fun for me... Gathering the information and pictures that my customer's send, then sitting down in my studio and beginning by conditioning my clay... Then little by little, shaping that clay into a whimsical likeness of what I see, both in my imagination and in the pictures and descriptions from my customers...  From beginning to end, I enjoy making these pieces 'come to life'.  Here's the beginning of two recent Wedding Cake Toppers I created... The Brides.  This is a "To Be Continued" post because they both need their Grooms!!  The Grooms will be revealed in another post, so please stay tuned!  :) 

 This bride has long dark hair, she's wearing a beautifully 

embellished wedding dress and a tiara.  

This bride has her hair up in a low bun with a swooped side bang, 

her wedding dress is gathered at one side and has a rhinestone belt.
