It is my pleasure to feature the wonderful Animal Sculptures created by Sofie Skein today.  Sofie refers to her creations as a menagerie of inscrutable magic ~ Unique, handmade, collectible animal people.  She grew up next door to her family's veterinary clinic on the edge of Oregon's high desert.  Animals, both wild and domestic, have always been intrinsic to her world.  She has fond memories of nursing orphaned pocupines and taking naps on the back of her pinto pony while he grazed in the back yard.  Her 'animal people' are fantastic, each with their own special personality.

Chihuahua Chica Little Dog Figurine

This unique, handmade, collectible chihuahua figurine is black with tan markings. She wears a full-length gown, her paws curl into tiny spirals and she sports a skinny curved tail. Her eyes are made of Swarovski pearls.

 

Beloved Bull Figurine

This unique, handmade, bull person is crafted from a custom blend of premium, micaceous polymer clay that has a beautiful marbling and sparkle. His eyes are made of Swarovski pearls.

Kitsune Red Fox Spirit Figurine 

This unique, handmade, collectible fox figurine has a a big, bushy tail, wears a long narrow gown and has tiny paws that curl into delicate spirals.

A Fairy and A Birthday Girl!

I just finished a custom order, a Cake Topper for a little girl's first birthday!  She's so cute with her big blue eyes, holding a yummy cupcake and wearing a party hat!  And below her is a Fairy, which I just listed in my Etsy Shop...

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥ Well, I'm on a Fairy 'kick' at the moment... Below is the first of the two Fairies I've been working on... Can't wait to finish the second one, she'll be ready to make her debut soon.  In the meantime, here is my Flower Fairy.  This adorable Fairy lives in the world of make believe, where anything is possible and everything is sprinkled with sunshine and fairy dust! She just picked some beautiful yellow roses and is sitting on a log in her magical forest with a lady bug by her side. Her wings were stamped with a floral design and mica powder was used to highlight the design and give the Fairy a magical look.

My Newest Clay Creations!

I am working in my studio this week, creating a Fairy and can't wait to present her to the world... She's a work in progress and a lot of fun!  She's 'Coming Soon' ~ In the meantime, I recently finished two new pieces; A little Giraffe and a Teddy Bear Wedding Cake Topper.  And... When you scroll to the end of this post, you'll see my Love Snails and Fun Clown Sculpture!

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥  This sweet little Giraffe would be a fun topper, or a special gift for a Baby Shower.  She sits approximately 2 1/4" tall and is wearing a big pink bow.

(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥  Looking quite dapper in his top hat and bow tie, this teddy bear groom is proudly standing beside his sweet teddy bear bride. She's holding her beautiful bouquet of roses and spring flowers, and they are standing on a heart shaped base.  The base has a stamped design around the edge and is highlighted with gold mica powder.  Standing approximately 3" tall, these little Teddy Bears are ready to celebrate a very special wedding!

A Steampunk Turtle and a Baby Elephant!

We have several challenges each month on the Polymer Clay Enthusiasts Team (PCETeam) on Etsy, and one of them is a 'Stretch Yourself' challenge.  For the month of May the "Stretch Yourself" PCETeam challenge is 'Steampunk' and I had so much fun creating this little Steampunk Turtle!  (I listed both the Turtle and the Elephant below, in my Etsy Shop today.)

I was very inspired the last few days and enjoyed some creative time in my studio... Until a bee chased me outside!  LOL! I'm not sure how that bee got inside, but it was big!!  Izzie tried to catch the bee, which only made it buzz around more... So outside we went, thinking the bee would settle down and I could take care of it later.  The weather was so beautiful today, it was nice to get some fresh air between finishing up the turtle above, dodging the bee and finishing this little baby elephant below.
