(¸.•´ (¸.•` ♥ One of my fondest memories of my son's Little League days was when he was six years old, in kindergarten and on his first T-Ball team, the Pirates . We had just moved to Texas from California and it was one of his very first games. He was up to bat, swung... and the ball flew off the T-Ball stand. Several of the boys went running in all directions and the ball was all over the place. Nothing cuter than little ones when they are first learning how to play! A couple of the boys were way out in the outfield, just playing with the grass or looking up in the sky daydreaming... cute! Anyway, the coach said to my son, "Run to first base!" And so he ran as fast as he could... "Safe!" The ball was still in play all over the place, so the coach urged my son to run to second base. As George left first base, the ball rolled in front of him... and this is the part I wish I had on video tape!! I always seemed to have forgotten the video camera when something really good happened!! As George started toward second base, he stopped as he saw the ball roll in his path... he picked up the ball and turned to the first baseman and simply handed the ball to him. Of course George was OUT... and how we laughed. Other parents in the stands were saying, "That boy from California sure is polite!" It was the cutest thing!! It warms my heart and makes me laugh just thinking about it! George went on in Little League, played for quite a few seasons, and as he got older he played catcher and pitcher... eventually he moved on to football, but this particular T-Ball game and the story of his first out will live in my memory forever! Thank you George, for this fun memory!
