Autumn in Michigan

Autumn is such a lovely time of year!  I never really got to experience the brilliant change of colors in the fall until moving here in 2009.  Each fall season since then, I have been enjoying the gorgeous colors.  Of course, we have lost a lot of the leaves now, and there's a lot of raking going on here.  Today is cold, rainy and windy... But the temperatures are going to go up a bit in the next few days (when the rain stops) and the sun will come out again for a day or two... Hopefully we'll still have some pretty colors to see, but I don't know... It's been pretty windy!  I always love to drive around and take photographs of the fall colors... I thought I'd share a few with you, and I also wanted to share some pictures of the Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch that we visited last weekend...  But first, here are two shots that I took in our yard before the rains came, and before the raking began.

I love the way the morning sun shines through the trees along the creek at the back of our yard.  It's a pretty view to enjoy with my morning coffee!

Wood carvings, he does it all with a chain saw.

We had fun at the Pumpkin Patch and got lost in the Corn Maze... But we did finally find our way out!  My daughter, Melissa, had her dog Emmi with her, and she stopped at this sign with her two cousins so I could take a picture.  Emmi loved the corn maze, she wanted to wander off the path and go through the corn to take short cuts... Had we followed her, we probably wouldn't have gotten lost! LOL!

We like to take our walks down this road, it's a pretty road that winds around from our house... There's usually no cars on the road, and there's beautiful farmland beyond the trees.

  1. Beautiful pictures. Fall is my favorite time of year. I may be travelling to Michigan next July, our church is praying about our next mission trip. A church there needs some construction done.

Lupe, We used to live in the Phoenix area (Mesa and Tempe). It's pretty there, a different kind of pretty in the desert... I remember such beautiful sunsets!

KJ, Your lucky that your leaves haven't changed too much yet... You still have it to look forward to! :)

  9. You sure did get some great pictures! We got cheated of our peak. Some things peaked early, some late, and we had 3 storms that knocked off a good part of the leaves.

    There's always next year..

Love the little bear guy by the pumpkins!

  10. Thank you Sher! I'm sorry that your colors came and went so quickly this year. That happens sometimes with those big storms, no fun... But you're right, there is always next year! :)
